I was wondering if you would avoid to respond the discussions from your friend that you are not familiar with the topic ?Perhaps you simply ignore it because you are not interested with? Or you ignore them because they are your new friend, you prefer to respond to your old friend? Please share your opinion. Thanks and have a nice day..:)

If I don't have any understanding of the topic, I will skip it. It would do me or my friend any good if I just wrote something random on their discussion. I have to have a strong interest in the topic, and in order for me to have a strong interest, I would need to have at least some basic knowledge of what the topic is about.

Well said ! Nothing good to just randomly write something to our friends discussion if we are not familiar with.:)

I skip most of the disscussions because i am not a good writer or i am not a right guy to give suggestions..I also skip disscussions which i dont understand..I had never differentiated new friend and old friend..I would respond general topics in which i am familiar..:)..Good Luck!!

I have the same thought with you as it's hard to force your self to write something that you have no idea..:)It is definatelly nothing to do do with an old or new friends.

I also skip some discussions that my myLot friends start. It is nothing against those people or the discussions they start, it is just either my unfamiliarity with the subject or just a subject that I am not interested in. I do not mean it to be a sign of disrespect, but if there is genuinely nothing I can add to a discussion, I don't feel the need to clutter it up with an answer that doesn't mean anything or an answer just to answer and get some more points on myLot.

NO...no.noooo..It's nothing to do with disrespect or against to our friends .I totally agree with you ..It's better not to respond if we don't have any idea what to write about the discussion that we are not very sure.:)

I am in the habbit of responding to the discussions of my friends as and when email alerts are received. I don't care much about if it is an old friend or new. I respond to any discussion which falls in my topic of interest. That need not necessarily be from my friend at all. Thank you.

I only reply to topics that interest me so I can offer a quality reply. If the topic doesn't interest me and I can't find anything to say, or if the words don't come naturally I leave the topic because I don't want to sound forced or just give a one liner. I do try my best to get to all of my friends, it was easier before when I didn't have so many but as the number increases it gets harder and there's no way I can get to everyone - especially because I also enjoy replying to discussions with no responses and replying to people who I don't know, so I can make more friends. But no, I don't skip over anyone because I don't know them or they're too new. If I add a friend, is because I intend on replying to their discussions - no matter how new or how unfamiliar I am with them.

Normally I try to respond to as many of my friend's discussions as possible. If I just plain know nothing at all about the topic then I will pass it by. I know next to nothing about sports and politics :)

Yes, if I can't answer or don't want to answer, then I don't answer. It is as simple as that. Friendship is not an exchange. It does not work the way some people think it does - I answer your discussion, you answer mine. Having said that though, if I know that someone has been supporting my discussions, yet I can't answer any of his, I will still try to at least answer one or two.

If the friend does not post discussion regularly, I will try to respond to the discussion unless I really have no idea what the topic is about. However, if the friend is a spammer, I will pick and choose topics I can respond to and ignore the rest. Isn't this friend giving me a multiple choice of questions to choose? I clear my email only once a day and I do not really pick friends. Of course, there are friends I will reply to all their discussions because they are not spammers and have been supporting me unreservely.

I dont respond telling co(k and bull stories to such discussions which i dont have any knowledge, rather i respond to those by asking for information or stating my knowledge and asking for any updation that might be required . Have a good day.

If my friends start a topic that I am not familiar on. Then I will not respond. There are too many people out there that will go on a head and respond with an "I don't know". This is very aggraveting to a lot of people. So if I can't help with an answer, then I don't waste my time or my friends time by answering "I can't help you, I don't know".

I only reply to topics that I have an opinion on. I do not look for topics that my friends have started, nor do I feel more or less compelled to comment if I see that one is from a friend. I just comment on whatever I see that has some relevence to me.
