Hi. What a funny post lol, and Im laughing because the lady across the road from our house, wears an apron as if it were part of her everyday dress... I dont think Ive ever seen her without an apron on, we see her in the shops and at our children school, dispite the apron, she has a daughter the same age as our daughter and they hang out from time to time when we do see her mom we say hello regardless, who knows she may cater from home, why she wears her apron all the time... Whatever the reason, shes a friendly lady and shes entitled to her own style of dress... Its just funny seeing an apron worn in public...

In Japan it is almost a uniform for housewifes and young mothers to wear an apron while out and about. It is something like a badge of honour, making a statement that they have entered the world domsicality(sp?). There again in Japan a girl can go to a four year college and still won't have much choice in the jobs available or how far she can advance. The glass ceiling for women is still very thick, so I guess being proud of being a housewife is all there is. dreamjapan I only wear an apron at home!
