Do any of you have rules when it comes to fighting fair? Such as never go to bed angry, etc?

Our main rule is to never go to be angry and to make sure we tell one another that we love each other after the argument is over. Must be working, we've been together for thirteen years.

Absolutely. I have learned a thing or two about fighting fair. I think it's one of thr most important things in keeping a relationship healthy and strong. Stay on topic. Don't bring up every single thing the other person has ever done wrong. No matter how angry you are, work towards finding a solution. It's not about winning, it's about fixing the problem. Don't call names or say things to hurt your partner. If you're too angry to keep from doing that then it's best to take a break before talking again. Don't use absolutes "you always..." "you never..." Explain how the other person's actions make you feel rather than focusing on what they said or did. Always remember that whatever you say cannot be taken back.
