The Liberal Double Standard

Liberals amaze me. They can defend a person for the same thing that they call criminal for another. Liberals crucified Nixon and his men for obstructing justice. For their actions in the Watergate Scandal, Nixon's men got jail time and Nixon was impeached and forced to resign from office. Now we have Scooter Libby who is Vice President Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff. Libby has been charged with obstruction of justice. The interesting thing is that liberals are actually upset. They didn't just want Libby, they wanted Dick Cheney and then Pres. Bush. Just look at the whole Attorney General Gonzales mess. Everything he did was perfectly legal. Everything he did was in the framework of the AG's office. But liberals don't care. They don't care that Bush won 2 elections and he has the right to appoint whomever he wants to to the AG's office, and that AG can do whatever he wants to with the Distric Attorneys that he wants to. The one thing that drives me crazy is that the same people that want to see Bush impeached are the same exact people who defended Clinton to the death. Now lets compare what they claim Bush did and what Clinton actually did: The one infamous charge that they level against Bush is "He Lied". They put it on their bumper stickers, I have seen creative slogans like, "How many miles per gallon does Bush's lies get." I personally believe that they pull this stuff out of the rear. I mean I challenge them to show me where Bush lied, and the first thing I always get is "well he told us that they had WMD." How is that a lie if not only the entire world believed that Iraq had WMD, but Clinton, Gore, and Father Bush believed that Iraq had WMD's. The truth is Iraq at one point in time had WMD's, what happened to them I don't know. Clinton lied under oath. I can't make that any clearer than that. Let's set the stage for everyone. He had a lawyer present, actually several lawyers. He raised his hand and swore under oath to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The same oath that he had to take is the same exact oath that anyone who has to go to court has to take. If you purger yourself, you get to go to jail. So let me understand this, let me set the table for you. Liberals would want nothing better that to have Bush, Cheney and their entire administration impeached and go to jail. I have even heard an obvious lefty say that Bush should be tried for war crimes. I have yet to hear an explination for that charge. But Bush and Cheney were never sworn under oath. Bill Clinton was. No liberal has ever called for Clinton to do prison time. How is that not a double standard?
