When I was studing I must admit I never have the liking for the military life and even the military personnel. I grew up in the country controlled by a dictator with the use of the military might, which at many times led to abuses. This put a negative image into my mind about the military.
But for now, I already realized the value of the military for the good of the nation. Military strenght is now really needed especially in the face of the international terrorism. We need them.

I totally agree with you. My father was a career defence man. He was sent to vietnam and korea and was the rank of captain before he retired. He passed away last year at the age of 72. He loved being in the army. He was given so many life skills and experience, I don't think many people appreciate the type of people we have as defenders of our country or understand what rigorous training they have to undertake. I have 5 sons, the oldest is 16 and he is an apprentice diesel fitter. My second eldest son is nearly 14 and has already decided on a career in one of the armed forces. He is joining the Air Force cadets in February next year. I know that my dad will be proud!!!! I hope that there are more like minded people in this world.Keep up the good work all you men and women in the forces!!!! We love you for it. I honestly believe that any young person who cannot find permanent work should be steered into one of the forces for atleast 2 years, this would help them prepare for life much better than staying at home and playing computer games etc.
