I had a lab and she was about 1 year and 4 months. When she had 7 pups. The pups were sucking her milk to much that she became so very thin. I gave her all teh vitamins and food she needed but she was still thin. After 2 months she died. She turned yellow, like in her eyes. We gave her anti-biotics but still I lost her. What has happen? What could be the reason? Could it be a bacteria infection on her liver? Thank you and more power.

hi!
i'm sorry to hear about your dog. it must be so painful seeing her taking care of her pups but getting thinner and thinner each day... 7 pups must be so strong in sucking her milk they've drained her. lol kidding.

Thanks bethel..... maybe your right and maybe thats the reason she got sick. Well all I can say is that she just turned yellow. I think her liver was affected and it was worse than I thought cuz I even gave her some anti-biotics but still did not recuperate. This is very sad.

I had a black lad as well and she passed away in Oct. She was the best dog so gentle and so good with everyone. I miss her so much. No dog will ever replace her.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes things happen and we don't know why. It does sound like your dog had some type of liver problem. I lost my lab last October after he got loose from the house and got hit by a car. Its never easy to lose a pet. They are like family. Did you keep any of the puppies? I have a puppy that was fathered by my dog and she looks just like him and acts like him too. She has brought me such joy. She will never replace him but she takes my mind off my loss.
