Metabolism will run higher and you can burn more calories by building up your muscles.
There is no intensity by plodding for hours on a treadmill. You must exercise at high intensity but not long duration. If you go to the gym,
you will perform many set of exercise, right? This will lower your intensity per set. So my tip is do only one set of exercise in short duration but with high intensity.
Hope this tip can help you:)

I thought to burn calories you ahve to keep on going for a long period of time so that you burn a lot. If you do heavy your muscles get bigger but if you do it longer you just burn but not get bigger. Just like track and field runners, they are thin because they run for hours and they burn everything.

You're right that exercise at a lower intensity will burn higher percentage of fat, but this may not be working
for certain people. Research also shows that higher intensity exercise in short duration and continuous results in greater weight and fat loss. Intensity measures how hard you exercise. The higher the intensity, the more calories and absolute fat will be burned. During the short duration and high intensity exercise, do not take too much rest. Rest only to catch your breath. And also, it is not necessary to exercise everyday. Give your body some rest. 3 days a week is enough with one day interval between the workouts for proper rest.

I know exactly how you feel. I have no metabolism at all. No energy! Nothing! It doesn't matter if I eat all day long or not eat at all. Nothing changes no matter what I do.
I'm beginning to think I will remain fat for the rest of my life, but the sad part is I am gaining and that isn't good. I have tried almost every possible diet there is and nothing has worked. I even had my thyroid checked and it was fine. I need a miracle, so if you figure out what works let me know!

It's not about not eating, it's about small potions and eating the right stuff. If you are eating very little your body may think that you are starving yourself, and retain more fat because of this. Eating small healthy snacks during the day are great. Just using portion control, eating better foods, and having healthy snacks during the day will kick start your metabolism and you'll start seeing results.
What are you eating habits like? That's really important to sort through.
