I can't generalize, but i can speak from my own experience. It takes me a while to shop because I have a big feet and i'm tall and skinny. Its really difficult to find shoes that fit me or clothes that will go well with my body type. I also have to consider my budget, the weather, places where I will wear the clothes i'll buy, if the color suits me, and if something would really look good on me.
If its not clothing that I'm shopping for, well I can make it a lot faster, coz I bring a list.

I find women's proportions to be a bit more tricky then men's, so finding the appropriate fit can be hard at times. . . and in some cases you have to figure out if it will work with the underwear you have. Also there tends to be a lot more selection to choose from.

before I'm giving my opinion. let's see what women like beside shopping.
Did you ever notice they love their inside home/room(girls) is full of color, putting flowers, adding posters in walls, different set of cosmetics, different sets of fashion and shoes, different here and different there.
Did you ever notice women when going buying something and trying this trying that, and at last she didn't buy anything and go home, but she is still happy and no burden.
Did you ever notice what women's eat or drink, how is that food taste, how is the drink taste, how the combination in once even though at last she didn't finish the meal.
etc etc.
Women need to fulfill her needs by tasting a combination of colors. This is their needs. They bargain, it's a color to them. Because they are very good at small details in financial-management. The lowest they can get, the happy their heart is(read as satisfaction).
Time is taking too long, is because it's their needs.
Men is different. From home, we had an objective for buying. Go there, grab the stuff, pay the cashier, go home. Brief and quick. That's men nature.
