Anyone who has a working PLDT MyDSL modem setting, please reply to this post. Lost our connection two days ago, tried to call the customer support but (of course they didn't help at all, kept on saying the same line evertime I call). We have an ADSL2 modem. Thanks in advance.

The modem has indicator lights. Which lights aren't lit? If they're all lit and green, then the problem might be with your cable, your computer, or the settings. Do you know how to tinker with the modem settings? You're better off fixing this yourself since tech support for PLDT (or any company for that matter) isn't worth nuts, unless the problem is with the cables or something. As for rebates, I guess asking them directly would work.

If you've already tried both bridge and PPPoE and it still doesn't work, then theres probably something wrong with the connection itself..you should call PLDT and tell them to send a technician over. Or switch to Bayantel, haha. Their help line for DSL is actually attended to by real technicians.

Yep, the modem is DB108 ASDL 2+. There are 4 indicator lights: Power, Link, Data and PC. Only the Power and the PC have lights on so that means I have no incoming data. I tried tinkering with the settings following their quick guide, I don't think it helped. I can communicate with the modem by pinging it and it indicates 0% loss so it means its working at my end and we can still make and receive calls so there's nothing wrong with the line. I'm able to reach the modem settings from IE by typing http://192.168.1.1 and log on (it shows there in DSL Status that its DOWN-every Adsl Connection is down?). Are you in pldt mydsl too? We have that plan 999. I don't use it at home though, It' my uncle that does, so it's driving him nuts paying for something he couldn't use. I just don't know which connection is best to be used. There's bridge, then there's PPPoE. The thing is I don't know the default settings before the connection went out, my uncle already tinkered with it and maybe made it worse. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

Thanks el_jeffo. Asked them for the fourth time last night. Grrrr. I hope they do fix it this week. I just don't understand why they could stand being verbally abused (which I didn't do by the way just gave them some lecturing about being paid for services unrendered) before they tell you that the technicians will come. Maybe it's a requirement for them to hire people who are really thick...Anyway thanks for the responses, you too tala91285. I hope I could be of some help to you in other topics.

We lost our connection last Friday. We tried calling them too but they kept saying that the problem might be with us - our network settings, hardware and such. I have experience in Networking and I do know how to fix connection problems so I think that the cause of the disconnection is with PLDT itself.

Oh and you should ask them to send someone to take a look at your modem. We're just waiting for them to arrive. We had the same problem before and it turned out, the modem that they gave us was busted.

Thanks a lot, my dear. I'll try that. You'll hear from me when they arrive. By the way do you know how to ask for rebates from them? I've read in some threads that you can do so. Thanks again.

Ah no, I didn't know that you can get rebates. Sorry ^_^
