The Best Of Tasmania

I have been to Australia many times, and one of my visits (in 2001) was to Tasmania. I spent 13 glorious days there hiring a car and travelling around the whole island. Tasmania is quieter than many Australian destinations I've been, but nevertheless it is a beautiful place to visit. The most memorable places I've been to are Mount Wellington, Tasman Peninsula, Freycinet National Park with the picturesque Wineglass Bay, the Cataract Gorge in Launceston, Cradle Mountain and the Nut at Stanley. At Cradle Mountain, I stayed 2 nights at the Cradle Mountain Lodge. It's really beautiful there and I remember there were 2 possums that came to our front door around midnight and we were so scared to let them in. We were warned not to let them into our lodge unit otherwise they may not leave. I took a beautiful picture of them but unfortunately I am unable to attach it here with this post. I also enjoyed Salamanca Market, Russell Falls at Mount Field NP, the Marakoopa Cave and the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden. There are just too many nice memories to name, and one has to make a trip there to enjoy this great big country. Soon I will be planning another trip to Australia, possibly Melbourne.
