THE CATHOLIC CHURCH DRESS CODE listed as proper attire for going to mass were collared shirts or t-shirts,jeans or slacks, polo or long sleeves shirts for men,and collared long sleeves, dresses and long gowns for women, corporate attire,or office or uniforms were also described as acceptable for church wear.... . . prohibited inside the church are caps, jersey or under shirts and shorts for men..spaghetti-strap and tank-tops,and other sleeveless blouses, plunging necklines and skimpy shorts and skirts for women... . . . . what?!!! i'm sorry, i guess i never heard about this piece of news. really? we have a new dress code? gosh that's a little shocking for me. but i guess it's okay if they're just gonna ban minis and strapless tops but they're not actually requiring girls to wear ankle length skirts are they? and by the way, how are they gonna enforce this dress code? are they going to shove improperly dressed people out of churches?

i guess they only thought of implementing this because ten years ago people really did come to church dressed respectably. these days some people really dress up like they're not wearing anything even when they're headed to church.

thats it!!they should have released a code before,.i could say that its going to be a big adjustment to the big mass of catholic believers the dress code they released. Most people who goes to church are not so wealthy enough to buy long gowns, slacks, corporate attire, dress, collared longsleeves, they buy food stead!!...

I am not Catholic, but my daughter-in-law is and she never told me about a dress policy, but then when I went there for their wedding and the baptism, there was nothing said about dressing inappropriately. Most wear slacks and tops, and a few of the ladies skirts and blouses and dresses, but in winter you need slacks to keep your legs warm. I did not see any there who wore skimpy outfits that showed their belly button. I belong to a Reformed Church (that is like Presbyterian only it was started in the Netherlands) and we have an unspoken dress policy that we should be modest --yes no skimpy outfits that show belly buttons, etc.) but we have always had it and if the Catholic church had not had a policy before, they should have.

May I ask one thing ? Is the religious framework made by God or Jesus or Priests? Is that the rule of Jesus & God, then carry on, otherwise leave. :) In my understanding many priests and leaders made all their religions bad.

I think it's about time that this happens. Honestly, I'm not a firm believer and I'd rather not go to Church but Catholics nowadays, especially the young ones to mid-30s are too vulgar in the way they dress when going to Mass. They aren't going to a party and neither are they hanging out at their house but they dress in short shorts, mini skirts, tubes, skimpy clothes... They don't show any respect for the religion and the place of worship. It used to be "Sunday's Best" when going to Church...those times should be brought back.

They are..That's why it's about time that they implement this. Then again, people used to have more respect for the Church that they'd actually go formal whenever they'd hear Mass. People nowadays are more daring and sometimes, I think that they just want to show off their clothes (and bodies) to other people their age attending Mass.

its not what you wear measures your respect....your attending the mass, listening to it...applying it to your everyday lives,...there sees the respect they talking about..and if they were distracted on what people wears, then learn to control, and resist your temptation..if just you focus on the mass itself, definitly your not going to be distracted...
