Do you like Stephen King's books?

I think King is a genious when he writes. He made a lot of beatiful books, and everytime I rode one of them, I loved it. What do you think of this writer?

He is a genius, how can you not love him? One of my all time favourite writers, and he writes good stories.

the spellbinding and mesmerizing writer of our time....kings character r so real tat u could feel for em..the unique talent of king s tat he doesnt create a supernatural situations...but he mines terror out of ordinary...i dont think any writer ll match up with the great king hereafter..
lets all hope he continues his good works

i love stephen king books it took me a week to read the stand when i was 15 but now i found another good writer named dean koontz which is almost as good as king

he really is a good writer especially for the horror genre. but i like john saul too. they have a common style

I completely agree with you. The first King book I read was "The Stand" back in 1980 and I was hooked. Since then I've read almost every book he wrote. I say almost because I have gotten to the last 2 yet... but I will!
I think the thing I like most is the combination of horror and humor. He always seems to be able to lighten things up just for a second at the time of the most anxiety in the story.
I never could quite appreciate the movies based on his books though because, of course, I always read the books before I saw the movies. The only exception was "Carrie". I loved the movie and actually had the book at the time but forced myself not to read it until after I saw the movie. That was difficult! LOL
I remember when the movie "The Shining" first came out and all my friends were raving about how scary it was. All I could tell them was "Read the book that'll really scare you!"
I've had to learn to keep the books and movies separate in my head or I get so disappointed with the movies. It isn't easy. But like King himself said "The movies and book are apples and oranges. Both taste yummy but completely different."
