rumors also says that it is more possible for them to trade marion rather than amare, it's also amare's room for more improvement for his power play is what the suns are holding on to

It would also build up more of Amare's defense in the paint and also dominate more inside. His flexibility and youth can really boost up the team. His moves and speed is very much like of a guard or forward. He should also improve his free throw percentages.

If I were Suns GM, I would trade Marion before Stoudemire. It is really hard to find a good center in the NBA and the Suns have one of them. There are a few players in the NBA who can put up similar numbers to Shawn Marion's, so I would trade him.

yeah it's true amare is one of the best centers in the league and his ability as a center is rare

Well, I hate the Suns so I'd trade Amare lol. But that should tell you my answer if I really was the GM of the Suns that I would trade Marion. Marion may be a better defender, but Amare has more upside in every other category and is younger and bigger.

hehehe... you also got a point there... amare has a advantage in terms of his scoring capabilities and just like you say he is younger and bigger

It all depends on who they get back. However, I would try to trade Marion first. Stoudemire can put up 25 points and 10 boards a night without trying too hard. While Marion is an excellent defender, he has a lot of non-productive offensive games.

it will be a very hard choice if for example the timberwolves asked for stoudemire for garnett

I would definitely trade Marion, if the Detroit wants him in favor of Prince then i would be very glad.

hmmm. i don't think phoenix will trade marion for prince and i also think that they will not accept that offer it case it happens. prince fits well in the system of detroit (half court game) and i think he will have a huge adjustment if he will be playing for suns and nash

This may sound stupid but if I'm a GM, I trade Amare before I trade Marion. On first blush, Amare looks untradeable because he is the one real inside presence for the Suns, but defensively he is not even close to where he needs to be if the Suns want to make a run at a title. With all the talented bigs in the West, you need someone who can match up effectively with them. Marion fits the Phoenix system perfectly - he's high energy, a scorer more than a shooter, better than you think defensively, a fine rebounder for his size, but doesn't have the ability to create his own opportunities to score. He needs a point guard like Nash to provide him those opportunities. Also, look at the free agent market. Gerald Wallace, Rashard Lewis, and Vince Carter will all be available. Why trade for a 3 if you can sign one without giving a player up? How many Amare-caliber big men are free agents? I count zero. If I run the Suns I try to give Amare for KG before it's too late. Sure he's older, but once Nash loses a step the Suns are finished anyway, so they should try to win a title or two before that window closes.

you have a point there. amare's weakness is his defense and defense are one of the specialties of marion
