How often do you change your cell phones?

I read that most people change cell phones every three year. That means there will be a lot of cell phones in most houses. Also these days, the resale value of cell phones are very less. What do you have to say?

I changed my cell phone due to the fact that my husband ran over it with his vehicle. Other wise, I would still have the original phone that I bought with the plan about four to five years ago. I just got a new on and it is so cute. I am gald he ran over it. I would say I hardly ever change phones so unless disaster strikes. Fortunately, I have insurance on it and can get it replaced for a relatively low cost.

A 500 $cell phone on resale will be only costing 60$. That is the difference.

I have a cell phone for the last four years, which I changed recently because the older one had become outdated. I agree, re-sale value of cell phone is very less.

Yes, people in my office also change cell phones once in two years or so. But I change my phone only if the current one stops working. I always consider buying a new one when the current one is working as an additional expense
