There's something that we call the Pygmalion Effect
This is when the people's expectations of you are realized. there really are people who expects a lot from you. it's up to you if you would use these expectations as motivation or as factors that give pressure to you. It's also up to you if you would want to satisfy those expectations. It's your call.
There's another effect. The Galatea effect:
This is when your own expectations of yourself are realized. You set standards because you know that you can achieve it. you set them so that you can improve even when you haven't gone that far. you set your expectations to levels that you know will make you more productive or more efficient. Set your standards wisely.
So do you have stories on how you've experienced the Pygmalion effect and the Galatea effect? please do share!:D
