There's something that we call the pygmalion effect:
This is when people's expectations of you are realized. there really are people who expect lots of things from you. it's up to you if you would want to meet or satisfy these expectations. it's also up to you if you would want to use these expectations as motivations, or things that give you pressure. it's your call.
There's also another effect. the galatea effect:
This is when your own self expectations are realized. you set your standards because you know that you can achieve it. you set them so that you can improve even when you haven't gone that far. you set expectations to yourself to levels that you know will make you more productive or more efficient. Set your standards wisely.
