Well I believe a person can be an expert in computers, and/or computer software, as long as they are willing to spend the rest of their lives keeping up to date with all the changes in technology and the software that comes with it. But that is a lot to keep up with, so I think most just keep it to a certain basic knowledge.

your right you can only be an computer expert if you have enthusiasm to learn and to keep updated in technology.. having an internet into our world can make us more knowledgeable and updated not only the computer graduate but also to the other people who are willing to learn..

I think anyone can become an expert in a field if they have the desire to. Its like just about any other job, if you have a desire to be an expert in it chances are you will be successful. Most people aren't because they don't have the desire to be.

Well to become an expert in a specific set of software to the point no body knows more than you, I would say you would almost have to be the developer yourself. People can become pretty good at certain types of software but I wouldn't think a consumer or normal person could ever match the knowledge on it that the developer has. To become an expert on a certain type of software a good start would be to take classes on it and/or read as much as you can about it.

from my point of view, i believe that anyone can become an expert in computers, but that person must be dedicated to computers and technology in general, he should like technology itself and the new up to date stuff. Personally i am an expert in technology and it requires a lot of reading and keeping up with the latest news, and also as it is said "Pracitce makes Perfect"

that's really nice thanks for participating in this discussion
i really appriciate your contribution
but practicals can teach you only part of the softwares if you take a smallest example
smallest software like PowerPoint can anyone say that they are the experts and no one in the world can challenge their knowledge

Yeah one can be expert but its really hard job as new technologies are emerging and there is nothing to loose so one have to devote all of his life to be that which i think no one is willing to do or not at least me.

technology of computer science is changing day by day. If we look in the past of computer, we will conclud that the computer which was being used in its past is now out of date. We note that new and better version of window and other such software are taking place of the old. The studies of computer in the past is becoming old and use less. This speedily growing and changing science. The age of dos and databases have gone to history pages of computer. Computer science is an ocean, which could never be explored by a single person.
