I am a retired teacher and will be signing up for substitute work. I love to teach. I wonder how many others of you are substitute teachers. I am semi-retired. I like substituting because I don't have the stress that a full time teacher has. I just go in and follow the plan for the day and leave. I don't have to take papers or worries home with me. I like elementary because the young ones still appreciate the adult. I like high school because you don't have to be on your toes as much as with the little ones. I wanted to ask those of you who understand high school best since I have always taught elementary, if you would mind giving some pointers about high school. How do you persuade them to follow the plan of the day or to stay foused on their work. It is easy for me to keep the little ones focused but I find I am not as gifted with the older ones. Any tips appreciated.

I am a student still now but still i can say one thing about a teacher , a teacher is a parent away from home for a student , she guides him and coax him while he is in school, and i can garantee you a teacher can change the course of life of a student for the good , and if someone needs a proof for this statement : i am the biggest proof of all.
Keep up the good work.
