But when ever I feel desire or need I as ask cigarette. I ask some one to bring it from market or I go to bazar and purchase a packet and start smoking. I know about the dirty ashes of the burnt cigerette, but eventhough I could not leave. Will you please help me withsome working or active advices of geting rid of smoking habit.

Yes it is. I used to be like you. A chain smoker. You know? It's up to you. If you really like to stop smoking you should quit. Don't ever think that you can't do it because it still is in your hands to do the doing. If you really would want to quit, do it, if not there are bunch of reasons that you can use as an excuse. Goodluck.

The prominent and first thing should be just stop it! Just ask yourself who is the rider? Yourinner concious or the surface mind? Try to bring your inner conciousness in front of your mirror and then let it rule over surface mind! This is really simple if you are really aware and not the slave of your habit!

Hi, sheenshaukat, I have the habit of inhaling "snuff" for the last 35 years. I tried many time to quit this bad habit but failed. Recently I started yoga. I find, without my knowledge, inhaling "snuff" has reduced to a great extent and the "desire" or need also come down. I advise you to do yoga then I hope you will be able to quit this smoking habit. Have a nice day.

You only say NO to yourself to smoking, if you really want to, you should find ways.

If you smoke alot i would advise spending some time cutting down on the daily amount you smoke before quiting all together so it is not such a shock to you body and withdrawal symptoms are easier to cope with this way. Try things like not smoking in your house only outside and no smoking in the car this will help cut down on the amounts u smoke as well. When you get the amount down really low then try to smoke only half of one at a time as this too will make you fill the craving but with less right. And if you slip up dont see that as a failure just pick up where you left off ok. I am stuggling with this myself right now i was almost quit then stresses of life through me off track with my quitting efforts but i am trying to get back to that stage i was at again though i will conquer it i will not let it control me and dont let it control you either ok keep us posted as to your progress too. Good luck my thoughts are with u as you go through this because i know how hard it can be. kitkat1

Just make a goal and do it. Just set a date and smoke as much as you can in the mean time and once that date hits on that morning just quit and be done. Just make sure to throw away all the cig stuff that may cause you to want a cig. I quit smoking over a year again and I just lost my job too and so I was highly stressed to the max because you just get so used to the same routine everyday and it was very hard but if you believe you can do it by setting that goal, that date, then you'll succeed. It also helps when your not living around other smokers, it makes it less tempting for sure. Good luck. -Lora

My husband is a chain smoker. He said he could stop smoking if I asked him to. He said he could do it without doing anything but the desire to stop. At first, I don't believe him. I mean I have friends and family members who smokes and who told me that it is very hard to stop smoking once you started it. But when I got pregnant, I ask my husband to stop smoking because it will not be good for the baby. The next day, he stopped smoking. I don't know how he does it but my baby is almost 2 years old now but he still smoke no more. I don't know if he smokes outside the house or when I am not looking around but I am proud of what is he doing. Whenever I ask him what are the ways to stop smoking, he just smiled to me and said one thing...DETERMINATION. A person who is determined enough can do whatever it is that he wants.
