How to keep my discussion in recent discussions for a long time?

Hi friends.I noticed one thing today.Though when we add comments to our own discussion there is no post count our discussions are kept afresh in recent discussions.Maybe most of you people might be knowing this already but new people like me ought to know right?That is why I am posting this.
