I always stop for pedestrians that are trying to cross..Now I have noticed that the oncoming traffic sometimes does not..This really aggravates me to no end...We can't be that busy that we ignore what is going on..That is just an accident waiting to happen..Do you ever notice some people will not stop for pedestrians? What do you think?

I only stop for pedestrians that are in a cross-walk. I don't think pedestrians should get special favors for not following traffic rules. Of course, if they insist on walking out in front of me, I do stop. I wouldn't hit one. That's one of my pet peeves though. Why can't you walk 8 feet down the street to go through the cross walk where there is most likely a light, rather than try to run across the middle? It seems to me that it would be a lot safer for everyone if pedestrians would follow the rules too. (I'm keeping in mind that not all drivers follow the laws either). :o)

I saw this very thing today. A woman and 2 boys were crossing about 20 feet away from the crosswalk..I stopped but she should have known better..

If I am driving in a city (Boston), the pedestrian is expected to obey the sign of when to walk and when to stop. Going through town, I would expect that people would use a crosswalk, and I typically wont stop for someone not using the crosswalk. I always stop for people in the crosswalk. If I am in a neighborhood, I go very slow because of children and pets. I would always stop in that setting. Thanks!

As should be expected. obeying the laws..I am always worried about the neighborhood children and pets...If someone is not using the walk and they get hit, whose fault is it? I believe it would be the pedestrians fault..but if they are in the walk and they get hit, then it would be the drivers fault...possibly..thank you

I think that 90% of people that drive today thinks that the road only belongs to them.
They have no respect for other users.
I live in the country and see this everyday.
And yes a lot of people do not stop for pedestrians,i always do!
Maby the ones not stopping should try to cross a crosswalk then they wouldn`t be in such a hurry to get nowhere.
If you cant` find 1 minute in your day to do something good whats the point?
Just because you stop for someone crossing the street you are not going to loose that much time and maby you might gain more respect for people!
The worl would br a little bit better, don`t you Think?

I agree 100%. What in the world are we hurrying for. Whatever it is, it will be there when we get there, and if it isn't then it wasn't meant to be...

I most definetly do! I figure they're on foot and I'm in a car just sitting. I like when people stop and let me go, especially if it's raining. It also takes longer to get places on foot, rather than a car and people always seem to be in a hurry! Good Question!

Common courtesy for one...Safety issue for another and as long as they are in the crosswalk they have the right away...Hurry is the right word..
