well what 2 days iv had and proberly more to come, yesterday we had really bad weather in yorkshire my street was flooded we couldnt go out on the street, iv never seen so much water on my street before, i couldnt get to work as the flooding was so bad, 2 british people have died from this horrible weather and they think there is more to come over the weekend, loads of peoples houses have been flooded (lucky not mine) people have been evacuated from there homes, i was worried as i didnt want to be evacuated as i wouldnt of known what to do with my animals, the River Dom which is near us was ready to burst and also there is one in rotherham which is about 20 minutes away from us, all the motorways are closed off aswell so because of this my mum cant come to visit us untill next week when everything has calmed down.

Well it is still going on - we were without electricity for over 3 hours today. Luckily we have had no water problems though - our flat is dry as a bone. Sheffield Wednesday ground is an absolute disaster area from the River Don which flows right beside it. It is going to take a lot of money to clear up the mess. One firm in Brightside is estimating their cost to clean up and repair will cost in the region of £10 million. Guess from what they say we can expect more rain this weekend.

Hello Mel,
It must be tough to deal with bad weather and flooding on streets. Thankfully your house was not flooded otherwise you would have had to move to safer place. It must be aweful not be able to get to work because of this. Hope the weather gets better and water from streets is pumped out. And hopefully your mom could visit you next week when weather improves. Good luck. my best wishes are with you. :)

Well you are in my thoughts and prayers. How awful for you. I pray it's over for you soon and there isn't much damage.
I'm curious because I have never heard of England flooding before, does it happen often there?

Hi Mel!
I heard about the flooding on the news yesterday....what a bloody MESS!! Here, in Halifax Canada, we sometimes get some localized flooding but nothing like what I saw on the TV last night. I'm glad to hear that you didn't have to be evacuated but I did hear this morning that there is more rain to come for you :(

Mel - I am in Sheffield - luckily we have escaped any flooding in the area where we are. Phone service went out at noon Monday - was back on yesterday when we got up but is off again today. There are whole areas right now without electricity. All the shops etc are closed in Upperthorpe - we have only had one flicker in the electricity. Where are you at Mel.
