Carbon Credits

Carbon credits are a serious melding of science with business and the opportunity for everyone to actually do something to save the planet. There is a need for this as there are times when any of us might take an extra trip in the SUV, run the bass boat a little too long, or run the air conditioner when maybe we should not. Carbon credits allow people to make up for their lack of discretion in regards to our planet and to make it up to everyone for being so inconsiderate. What a great thing are carbon credits. We should thank Al Gore everyday. However, there are other people who do not care about carbon credits. Some of these ignorant red necks even feel a sense of insecurity and inferiority over the fact that their carbon footprint is so small. Afterall, you know, when you dropped out of school and work for less the minimun wage, how big a carbon footprint can you have? Jet fuel just costs too much for these people. For these unworthy individuals carbon debits have been invented! That's right! If you always wanted to be a carbon big foot but have to ride a bicycle because that's all you can afford, you can now be the same as a rich republican or a democratic hypocrit with just as big of a carbon footprint. In the search engine at the top of this myLot page select (web) and type in "carbon debits". You will find there are numerous web sites now making a poor attempt at humour by making fun of the wonderful idea of carbon credits by offering for sale carbon debits. What is wrong with these people? What's your opinion of carbon credits and carbon debits? Good ideas? Or not? BTW: If you suffer from small carbon footprint envy I will cut down a carbon dioxide asorbing tree on my property for a small fee. If you need a carbon credit, for another small fee, I'll burn the tree in my wood stove this winter contributing particulate matter to the atmosphere thus blocking the sun's rays to combat global warming.

Carbon Credits are the Buying of Indulgences for the Enviromental Religion. The only difference is, there's more than just ONE man nailing a list of questions to the Gore.

Carbon credits are one of the biggest scams known to mankind. Well excluding pyramid schemes, and making $10,000 a month by buying my book. Carbon credits are just a convient way for self righteous enviromentatlist, it allows them to go ahead and live life to the fullest, and leave the biggest, gigantic, almost Bigfoot like carbon footprint, and still feel good about themselves. Yes with carbon credits, you can still build a 25,000 sq ft home, mine zinc on your property, fly around in huge jumbo jets even though there are only you and a couple of your staff, and drive in big honkin limos. And let me remind you limos and jets aren't hybrids. And to clear away the conscience just spend a little money. Oh yes I must have missed that section in Al Gore's movie where money could fix global warming. Let me remind everyone that Al Gore owns the company that sells carbon credits. So let me understand this correctly, you give Al Gore a million dollars, and he will fix global warming. What a sweet deal!

It is interesting that Al Gore buys his carbon credits form himself, or his company. I think it is a scam and there is no proof that it will work. I do know that with the change of farming in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa that it is effecting the weather in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Will the planting of all the trees from peoples' carbon credits what will that do for the environment? Will my grand children face more forest fires? Will there be less land for farms or will the carbon credits be used for the production of corn for ethonal? IF that is the case the weather change I mentioned earler will increase. Right now acording to a to some farm experts the increased acreage being transfered from wheat and cereal grain to corn is causing more severe storms in Minnesota and Wisconsin. he reason is that corn give off more water vapor (a green house gas) and as hot unstable air moves over the area it pick up more moisture and become more unstable and product more severe Thunder Storms and Tornados. Living in Wisconsin I will not be buying any Carbon Credits in the phonny scam. I do beleive in global warming but I don't think that man is the major player. I will take the steps I can to reduce the amount of green house gases I produce. I would like to see Al Gore and some of the other pushers to reduce their carbon footprint (and not by purchasing Carbon Credits).

You have nailed Al Gore's hide to the barnside wall. To even further understand Al Gore you have to realize that he represents why nepotism is such a failed strategy for modern civilization. The man has never learned to be held accountable for stupid things. He has said and done one stupid thing after another while being told he is brillant. People around him apparently have been too afraid of his family's power to tell him the truth. It is no wonder the man is a buffon concerning global warming. To anyone who can extrapolate numbers and do data analysis, who has also really looked at the data, Al Gore is a joke.

Even to the point that Al Gore ran for the Senate Seat his father held and most people thought they were voting for his father. That is a story I heard. He couldn't succed at anything on his own he had to become a politician.

My family wons some hunting land that we have been logging off as the treas mature. This is done to prevent forest fires. I would love to sell people Carbon Credits to help me reforest our land. We do this following a wildlife management plan. We plant them randomly and we have both hard woood and pines so there is a varriety in the forest like the Lord, Jesus Christ and not Al Gore, planned it. Contact me through MyLot if you want to buy Carbon Credits from me. Donate $25 or more and I will email you a picture of the patch of forest you hlep replant.

You have some nerve horning in on Al Gore's action. And mine! I'll see your $25 and offer to plant my super fast maturing trees for only $20. They grow to 50 feet in 2 weeks and therefore start asorbing much more CO2 faster than your trees. I will email a digital image of the fully grown 50 foot trees 2 weeks after anyone who sends me the money has their check clear.

In my opinion, carbon credits are just a big scam. They let big business and rich people with a guilty conscious; say "I am not so bad"; when it does not reduce their general disregard for the environment at all. I agree with the earlier person who compared them to "buying indulgences".

Indeed, comparing carbon credits to "buying indulgences is so right on that I gave him "best response" and envied him for thinking of this instead of me!
