Well i know everyone can participate in this discussion because if you didnt have a computer you would not be on mylot lol. What kind of computer are u using? How does it work for you? Would you like to have a better one and what made you choose the one that you have now? What would u say is the best qualities of your computer? I got mine through a Canadian company called MDG it has lots of ram and an 80 gig hard drive. It come with a great software package and speaker system, printer scannner copier. The monthly payments are really affordable too. I am really satisfied with this computer as it works well for my computer needs and i would recommend it to anyone. I have had it over a year now and have never experienced any problems with it.

I use 2 computers. One at work and 1 at home-
My work computer is a Dell desktop. It’s great- It does have problems at times but that is why we have an IT department.
At home I use a E-machines computer- Got it at Best Buy- It’s about a year old- Works wonderful- only thing I don’t like It didn’t come with Microsoft Word- but works—that stinks! Other than that it’s great!

I like those Emachines. But I wish I could get a gateway computer.

I have a PC. My computer isnt a Dell or an HP or whatever it might be from. My brothers bought all of the parts and put them in an empty case and turned it on.They said it was about 200-300 dollars cheaper than if we had gotten the equivalent from a name brand company, and we have never had a problem.

Not necessarily true...I only got my own computer a few months ago, and prior to that had to rely on the computers at the library to do everything---and believe me that was a bummer
Well--hehe...I'm of the aristocratic artistic, creative folk...meaning that I have a Mac computer...LOL--it took me a long time, once I knew I could afford a computer to decide..originally I was going to get either a HP Workstation of Pavillion type--but then all my friends (some of them Mac users) said since I'm in the artistic field that Mac was the way to go--Macs are great for graphics, etc...but as a word processor with TextEdit and Pages doesn't compare to Word...though I might download some of the other opinions for a Mac

I have an Apple Mac Computer it's a G5 so it's fairly modern, it's a good piece of equipment, reliable, I prefer Macs because they are less likely to get bugs and viruses on them. It is also good for my needs, I do maps and need an illustrator package which is only compatible on a Mac, my ex bought me my first Mac instead of a PC, it's what you get used to. Don't know how much it cost because it was a present. Pretty reliable tho

I have a Gateway laptop which does about everything, including burning CD's. I like having a laptop. Gateway is ok, but I think I might have liked a Dell better.

Not much to say about my computer. I'm using a P4 powered, manually-assembled (I purchased cheap parts and put them together) computer, which really leaves a lot to be desired. Even though it has 700++ RAM, it's still pretty slow. I'd like a new one if I had the money, but until then I'll have to make do with this one.

I got a Celeron 2.3 ghz, with 512mb DDR, 80gb HD. It's a good one, it meets all requirements I need for work and for fun. I wish I had a P4 with 2Gb memory. But it was kinda expensive when I had money available to buy a computer. So for now I'll stick with mine

I would love a 3Ghz computer and a LCD monitor... but those would be luxuries that I don't really need for what I do on my computer.
A color printer would be great also. But I would probably spend a fortune on color cartridges while printing too many photos.
What I would love most of all is broadband... but I cannot have it where I live because I am in the middle of the bush.

I bought my computer in July of 2002. It is a Compaq FS7550. I purchased it at Costco and I the time it was the lastest one out from Compaq. When I first went there, I had my heart set on buying a laptop, but the saleslady told me that your first computer should be a desktop, because it holds more information and the keys are not as sensitive to touch.
I just love my computer. I have never had any real problems with it and have not had to pay for anything new since I first purchased it. I am totally amazed at the ease of use and set up. When I first bought it, I did not know a thing about setting up computers, but this one was very easy to do. I have moved three times since I purchased this computer and I only have a very little nick on the screen.
I purchased my printer the same day at Costco. I got the Lexmark x83. I dearly loved that printer, but the ink was highway robbery, so after keeping it for four years, I sold it to a friend. I bought another Lexmark last year, it is the 2300 seires. It is a 3 in 1, printer, copier, scanner, just like the x83.
The color is not as true as the x83 was, because the ink is just one cartridge for the black and color, but it serves it's purpose wonderfully. I don't regret any of the purchases at all.

I am currently using an Averatec laptop with wireless DSL....it is about 2 years old and works great...occasionally I will have difficulty with the wireless connection but that is rare...
I also have a desktop that my hubby bought for me around Christmas time.....it has wired Internet connection...but usually that is the computer that the kids play games on and my older children use to surf the Internet on....

I am also using the same computer which is desktop from Hewlett Packard Vectra VL. Its PIII. I know its a little old but it sure is fulfilling all my needs in using computer. I am not as lucky as you are because I had many virus intrusions which resulted in formatting and installing new Windows XP. This is my 1000th post. I am planning to buy a laptop.

I've actually got two PCs at home, one a Pentium 4 3.0GHz with an 80GB HDD, and a newer one that has a Core2Duo 1.8GHz processor with a 160GB HDD. I use LCD monitors for both. I also have a printer/scanner from EPSON that is quite highend and can scan even photo negatives and slides. Both PCs work very well for us. We need to have two PCs cos my wife also needs to use a PC for her work, and we just can't fight over 1 PC I guess. We use the computer a lot for work, keeping records, surfing the net, doing my internet investments, listening to music and playing some games sometimes.

I bought this laptop as my first computer. But sometimes i am frustrated with this laptop because i can't do something on a particular software or programme. I bought thru credit card and with instalments facilities, so it's ok to buy. And i purchase extra battery and with a mouse too.
