imagine yourself inside your house, you are alone (except for a baby)and these 5 situations are happening at the same time: a baby (maybe yours or your nephew/niece or baby sister or a brother) is badly crying and calling for your attention; you have something cooking in the stove and on the verge of being burned; the phone is ringing and won't stop until you answer it; there is someone knocking on the door; and itss starting to rain outside and you have near-to-dryness clothes hanged outside in danger of getting wet again. which will you attend to first???

Hi there.
1). Naturally the food would be over cooked, so I'd go turn that off.
2). Id go see the child.
3). Id get rid of the phone caller, depending on how important it was and get them to call back.
4). and 5). Id answer the door and get the person at the door to help me take the washing off the clothes line...
Hows that for handling 5 situations, that some people easily stress out over... lol

hahaha! did i mention you cant get any help from the person at the door??? ^__^
these situations are actually a question of priorities and each situation stands for a general aspect in our life. so i'd take it that your number 4 would be the door and last are the clothes????

Hahaha... Yup my last one would be the clothes and this is how I prioritise these 5 situations... No you dont mention, that you cant get any help from the person at the door... As we know this is only a post, If I were in this situation for real, I would make the person at the door help to grab washing, wether he/she liked it or not... Thanks for the comment secret bear...

I would turn the stove off first since it could turn into a fire hazard. Then I'd grab my bay and then the phone while heading towards the door. I would tell the caller to please hold on a minute or call back. I would tell the person at the door that things are really chaotic at the moment and could they please help get my laundry down.

hmmm.. okay... the stove represents home, the baby represents the family, the phone represents your career, the person at the door is other people like friends, officemates, etc, and the laundry is personal pleasure or seeex. LOL do you still want to ask for help from the person in the door? ^__^;; thanks for answering.

LOL dont worry, i do that also. i dont read the other responses so i can say what i really think and my own opinion. ^__^ but i guess there's something to it, with asking the person in the door to help you get your laundry. maybe you'd like somebody to make you happy. ^__^ or share your happiness. LOL i dont want to think that the laundry represents only seeex. i'd want to think of it as personal pleasure and that's a thousand different things right.. ^__^

LOL...just my luck, I don't read any responses so I don't get influenced and end up doing something silly like that! Well in that case, I'd still turn off the stove then get the baby. I'd ignore the phone and probably regretably leave the laundry out. I'd open the door but keep it brief. They'd most likely offer to leave anyway, I don't seem to be able to keep friends.

def. the food b/c that could cause a fire then the rest wouldn't even matter, then grab the baby, answer the door, answer the phone then get the clothes i say clothes last b/c that would probably take the most time, the door and the phone u can tell the people to wait!

the food represents the home, the baby represents the family, the door is for other people may it be friends, classmates, officemates, etc. the phone is for the career and the clothes... LOL it would take the most of the time eh?? ^__^;; its for seeex/personal pleasure. LOL

There's no doubt I would take care of what's
about to burn first. Then check on the baby
to make sure it isn't serious. If the phone
is cordless I'd answer it. Then I'd let the
guest in if I know him/her. Then excuse myself
to get the clothes in.

I asked because... not that this situation happened to me. ^__^ this is one of those psychological questions to identify a person's priorities in life in general. ^__^ I remember the time when I was asked about this. I was proud with my answer. LOL I took care of the baby first. & then turned off the stove, opened the door, answered the phone & then finally the clothes.
should I tell you the meaning??? hehehe...

first, the cooking is supposedly related to home/house, next is the baby equivalent to family, phone would be your career, the person at the door is other people (friends, gf/bf, acquaintances, etc), and last, the clothes... uhhh... ^.^;; sheesh.. how will i put it... like you know... your personal pleasure.. ^_^;; specifically sseexx life. ^__^;; im certain you're a male so it was kinda difficult for me to say it. if u were a girl it would have been easier for me! LOL

Hmmm... I'd be running to the kitchen to turn off the stove while yelling "just a minute" to the person at the door. This should take 30 seconds.
After, I would take the baby in my arms (again yelling "just a minute") and answer the phone. And with the baby and phone in my hands (if I can;t hang up after the first 2 seconds) I would answer the door. :)

I can feel you're in a hurry. ^__^;; I felt like taking deep breaths. LOL actually, it doesn't matter if you're yelling "wait a minute" to the person knocking at the door. coz it is assumed that that person can't hear anything from the inside. ^__^ jumpinjack mentioned a cordless phone but doesn't matter too. ^__^
I wonder why most people put the door below their list... some of my friends made it #3. LOL
anyway, this is a question of priorities in general. would you still like the answer? ^__^
