Idle / Inactive / Deleted Members

A couple days ago I started a discussion about the "users by ratings" area here on mylot. I wanted to see where I stood among the 98,000 plus members. Well let me say that I now know there has got to be way too members still listed on this site that are no longer active for some reason or another. In a couple days time I have jumped up 20 spots and have not really done a whole lot in those 2 days. Why does mylot keep this list ever growing when I feel that maybe only about one third of this 98,000 plus is actually active? I notice when a member is deleted their account is gone but their page still remains with and or without the discussions. Why not get rid of the whole page when the member os done using mylot for whatever reason? How do you feel about this total of 98,000 plus that mylot calaims on the site? Should they do a better job leting new members see how many are actually on the site and active? This number to me is just that, a number telling us how many HAVE had an account at one time or another. I say get the correct total or at least a lot closer to it or get rid of that completely. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

This is a major contention for me, I truly believe that myLot needs to make accounts inactive if the people have not been online in awhile. A while back I was going through my friend's list and was so surprised to see how many people had not been on myLot for months, I mean like 3 and 4 months, why do they keep their accounts active after that length of time, most other websites would delete them. Unsure if they are just overloaded with other tasks or what the problem is, I have written to them, but have yet to hear back from this on this issue. I am sure they are aware of it, but don't have the manpower to correct it, hopefully in the future.

I would guess about half (maybe more) are not active, I know my friend's list is about that, I try to go through it but I have decided that it is too cumbersome and time consuming to continue so I just leave them on there, I put everyone on email notifiy and I only get about 40 emails overnight so I know most of mine are inactive. Have you written to myLot about removing the inactive members?? I have, but have not heard anything to date on this.

Actually I have quit trying to contact mylot for any reasons anymore after the latest waiting for a reply. I wrote about 9 days ago asking some guideline questions and haven't heard a single word from then. But I will contact them for any problem I have logging in. HAHAHA!! I haven't checked my list as far as whoms active and not. But with 238 friends I get maybe 200 emails daily. Thats started topics and responses etc in my emails. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have a lot that have not been on for months also. I can only begin to imagine how many of this "population" in myLot are accounts like my "grandpabob" one created as a duplicate to just get in touch with mylot after logging in problems. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I too think that they should clear the deleted member's profile from here and show the number of undeleted ones only. But inactive ones too are the part of myLot and they must get included. I would not have liked myself expelled during the months I was continuously inactive. My main point is : clear the deleted and unverified ones and also make available those names for new users. I wanted to sign in with some other name but that name was occupied by a deleted member. Though this name too sounds good ;) And again, one of my friends registered with three different ids and two are still unverified. Why not delete them?

Hello grandpa. I went through the "users by rating" after reading this post. Its not surprising to see a lot of the top users are not active anymore. Some of them are on my list and I never heard nor seen them for months now. One main attraction of mylot is the number of members here. New users or newbies may lead to believe that this is a busy community. Almost 80% on my list of friends alone are idle and simply an avatar there.

I hear ya, Grandpa Bob. If there are accounts that have been deleted then mylot should deleted their pages as well. It would sure bring the total down some. They should only post the active members. That way new members can get an actual count on just how many ppl are members of mylot.

Hello, grandpabob,it is a good idea to show how many members are actually active, active means like the members have loged on on the past one or two weeks. In my opinions, less than 10 % of the members are actually active,as from my email account,i have got fewer discussions these days,i am also not really active these days. Also,it seems that many members will have around 5 inactive referrals, according to this ratio,i have to say less than 10000 members are really active.

I agree that if it is going to be displayed then it should be accurate....I looked at mine that day...it was down there so far that I actually lost count...LOL Good point, my friend....

Yes, my lot should delete the pages of deleted members. It doesn't make sense to keep them there. However it would be the reason you said... to inflate the numbers. Many sites do this. I started a discussion two days ago, asking hgow to delete my membership from Adbux. I can see now why there is no unsubscribe option. To keep the numbers looking high.

I never understood this practice of keeping a page of someone who has been deleted. I think the 98,000 is not accurate as far as who is active. You may heve moved up in the standings without doing too much because several ahead of you lost points for discussions that were deleted.

I feel there may be about 25,000 to maybe 40,000 active members only. By active I mean those that have been logged on doing things here within the last 3 months. Several members in the topp 200 of the rankings pafe seem inactive or gone totally. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I think that they should be removed, its ridiculous and a wwaste of space....I have come across sooo many accounts that were opened and then the person never logged in again at all. We sort of have a rough idea of how many are really active anyway, because you see the same people in most subjects.

LOL - I agree with you, totally delete the inactive members but then how long should that be before they are considered inactive? I kinda gave up paying any attention to numbers on mylot - just so my payments keep coming :)

I think 3 to 6 months of inactivity should be the standard. 3 months is a long time as most people take 2 weeks vacation some maybe a month. So anywhrere from 3 up to 6 months is sufficient time that one should be considered deleteable or inactive. Hahahaha! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

When it comes down to it what is in the numbers it is just a number. There is no time limit on if a person is not using their page for a certain time that mylot kicks them off so I think that is why their page is still there. It would be nice to know acturall numbers of who is active members but then myLot has to come up with the definiation of what that is. LOL

So what about accounts that are definitely deleted with no discussions left in the profile? Why are those left here as a count? That's ignorant to leave those types here for so long in my eyes. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh yes, i think sometime there should be some cleaning by the mylot moderator and list freshly how many active members ar there. In last one month may be almost 600 paople joined and it grew up from 97000 to now 98330 so members increasing at a very high rate but what about the older...are they still active as they were before...i read so mnay times here that -the member just came here for money and then disappeared...so it must changes

I am sure many joined thinking they'd make 10 of more dollars daily. When they realized the payout wasn't up to their expectations they just stopped mylotting. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Does anyone know a way to find your rating without having to look through all the pages under the "Users by rating" section? I've only been a member for a month so my rating is very low yet. Is there a way I can find it other than starting at the last page and moving forward?

The only reason I can think of for keeping inactive members' discussions on is to allow people to continue to see the discussions. I haven't looked at any inactive member discussions, but there may be some interesting discussions and comments that could be found through the search feature. It would be nice, however, to know just how many of the 98,000 + members are actually posting at least once a month or so. How would a person define inactivity on a community like this?

But if a mamber responds to thos or the ones banned then eventually the account dissapears and points as well. Now if they did it to where points aren't lost then leave them there. But sooner or later mylot needs a SEVERE update to mend many problems it has with the server/system. I would say if you have not been actively posting or responding for 6 months would be considered inactive. Maybe even a 3 month period. Thanks for the response as well. Appreciated your time. Until now I thought when they delete a person they delete all him profile.i just visit your other account these you created when you can;t access this one and you are right. No posts but your profile is still there.I think is wrong,if they delete must be for all profile. Also they must has a limit for inactive accounts.I don't mean few weeks or a month but they are accounts inactive more than 3-4 months. I would like see how many members are actually active here..I hope mylot do something about it.

Some sites show how many members are logged in or online all the time. So a member or even a visitor has an idea how many are actually using the site at any given time. I think that mylot could actually put something like that in the homepage.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Well, having first look of your discussion made me feel ... O I should post lest the same case will be termed for me too lol.. I have been off for some days and owing to the fact that there are so many other pending chores & official tasks I had been very much "out of the mylot job". But whenever I have some spare time, I try to be active and do the "most favorite of mine" :) Thanks for knocking hahaha Have a nice day!

I also jumped up 2 pages in the last couple days1 I haven't checked yet. I think when mylot deletes an account they should also delete their page. I wonder why they don't? hmmmm. Maybe they are trying to impress new members with the amount of members they already have. Whether they are active inactive deleted or banned etc. I agree with you I would love to see the correct total!

Hi, grandpa. Yes, they might keep old profiles only to increase the numbers, but it sounds like cheating to me. I know it's not in fact, but it makes the numbers inaccurate and it's not very fair. Besides, I guess they could save a lot of space on their servers by deleting these profiles, instead of deleting some discussions for no apparent reason at all. It never happened to me so far, but I have a feeling it's not very far away from happening, since recently the discussions I created generated some controversial responses. I guess I should get back to the generic, light and easy subjects. About the "users by ratings" stuff, well, there's no way for me to find myself in there yet. Or there's any kind of searching tool to know my position? Cheers, grandpa!
