Do you wish to buy a land and then construct your house or to buy a old house

In the long run I'd like to buy land & costruct the type of house that I would like. For now, I may would even stick to buying an old house first, do it up, sell it & make more money. If not sell it then lease it out and have it as calatoral.

If i got enough money, i like to buy a land and construct my dream house, because i may have an opportunity to design what i want in the house i will live for a long time. An old house is hard to reconstruct or renovate, i think the maintainance is more costly than building a new one.
