Well, I feel there are ways people can overcome Diabetes, or reduce their risks of what damage it can do to a person later on in their life. One of them is watch your Diet, and learn to eat Foods lower in Carbs and fats.

Diabetic here. Somedays I do much better than others. Something about having sweets around that adds to the trial. I have found eating fewer carbs helps me keep lower blood sugar levels. I am not on medicaiton, but was. No insulin. But I have also not been good this year - especially with some weight gain. I am working at eating more healthy and getting more excercise - two biggies.

Just make sure you take care of yourself, and maybe you can keep from being one.

I understand the Stress, and that is when I tend to overdo it, and Eat stuff I should not be eating. So then my Sugar levels and energy levels show it as well. It is truly a learning process for sure.

You are Lucky. Make sure you continue to Eat right, and do everything you need to do, and maybe this will continue to happen for you.

I have been there, but not this low. I have dropped in the 50s a couple of times, and it takes me a while to pull myself out, and then sometimes I end up overdoing it. I wish you and your husband luck with this.

I sometimes wish I could have been Type 1 from the beginning, instead of becoming Type 1.5 just over 2 yrs. ago due to other Health issues, as I have a hard time leaving the BAD foods alone.

He used to take insulin injection every day to control Sugar level.

I have no problems with the Burning, etc when I use the Shorter needles. But I have learned as I have Neuropathy as well due to my Diabetes, sometimes it is easier to inject the insulin in my stomach area more than my leg.

KrauseHome, you mentioned that you work swing shift. This can be a factor in your diabetes control. It is more difficult to manage when your schedule changes all the time. Be sure your doctor is aware of this and if you see a nutritionist be sure to mention this. My husband had a very difficult time regulating his levels because of his weird schedule.

Thank God i am not a diabetic. By God's grace i am healthy even though i am 42 yrs. old. I always eat vegetables and fish and chicken. I am aware of my eating habits. Even though i gain weights, i don't have illness.

Yes, I am diabetic. I also have muscular dystrophy, which works against the diabetes. It was impossible for me to control my blood sugar for a long time. My glucose was tested as high as 500 - and that was when I was following my diet to a T! An endocrinologist put me on mega doses of insulin and oral medicine which seemed to have shocked me system back into working order. I'm still taking oral meds but at half the dose I once was, and I no longer have to take insulin. Yeah! I have "significant" nerve damage and problems with circulation in my legs and feet due to both the diabetes and muscular dystrophy.
