Writing has been my tool of expressing myself. I felt no one was willing to listen to what I want to say, a paper and a pen were my bestfriends! Honestly, I had hardship in expressing my thought in my younger years. I felt fear, confusion, loneliness, doubts. These makes me a writer on my own way. Hahah! I first wrote a poem for a friend. An essay in my elementary years. I delight in it specially when i get high grades.

I started writing in my elementary days too, although in my country, we call that primary school years. I still remember I not only wrote short stories, but also translated stories from the Chinese language to English for my younger sisters. It was just for fun then, as I prefered writing and reading at home than to play with the neighbourhood children.
I still wrote while in secondary and high schools, then in college. I stopped when I went to work. When I entered varsity, I did not have the option to take up creative writing. So, I stopped writing for some years.
Recently, I started to write again. I feel this is a good way to express one's thoughts too. What one can't say, one can just write.

I started writing in grade 10 when I took a creative writing class. In that class we had to keep a daily journal. I met a new friend in that class and we started writing stories together. I've been writing ever since. I just wish there had been more than the one creative writing class in high school. Just one class in grade 10 is certainly not a good way to promote writing in youth.

Good for you for having a talent in writing even at a very young age. Nowadays, seldom can you find young people who really write in order to express their opinion, support a cause, or defend an advocacy or a passion. Furthermore, young people's preoccupation are more on the materialism of this world, and never care about advocacies or ideas. So you are truly admirable for having writing as your passion. Hope young people like you will have also a meaningful hobby that is enjoyable, wholesome and meaningful...

I didn't start *actually* writing until I was about in Middle School. Then I started writing because I wanted to post things on DeviantArt.
