I have a 5 week old baby son. He sleeps in a cot in our bedroom. Health professionals say that it is a good idea that babies up to six months old sleep in a cot in their parent's room. This measure is to avoid cot death. My partner keeps bringing our baby into our bed. I am worried that he could fall out of the bed onto the wooden floor, get crushed or over heat. The floor is very hard, we have too warm covers and my partner is large and heavy. My partner is not understandings about safety issues. I love my baby and I want him to be safe.
How old is your baby? Where does your baby sleep?

from day one both of my girls slept in their own rooms!
it was better for me and them! i have a very good babyphone so i hear it when they are awake!
both of them sleep the whole night from 8 pm untill 8 am!
both of them are still sleeping in a cot!
i think you should tell your partner that it is very dangerious what he is doing! you're baby can die if he falls asleep with you're baby under him!

My daughter is 8 months old now and sleeps in her own room in her own cot, she slept in my room until she was 6 months old in a bassinet but when she grew out of that I had to move her into the cot and I think that it was harder for me than it was for her, she slept right through the night and I constantly got up to check on her!! The only time that I bring her into my bed is if she is sick and hasnt slept for long and then I think that it is for my sanity that I do it so that I can get at least an hours sleep before I have to get up!
