I remembered to add the picture this time LOL. Here is an art project I did with the daycare children this morning. I wasn't to sure how well the project would turn out since we've never done this one before.
I gave each child a sheet of black paper. Then I gave them some red, white, blue paint and a toothbrush for each color. They dipped the toothbrush in the paint and then dabbed it up and down on the black paper. Do you think it looks like fireworks? I wrote "Fireworks" on the top of the paper so the parent would know what it was.

Thanks! I'm so glad they look like fireworks. I wasn't sure how we were going to do it, then this morning I had the idea of the toothbrushes.

Great job! Children love to be creative like this. A teacher who can help them be creative is a great teacher. I'm sure they really enjoyed the project, and the parents can ooh and aah about it which makes everyone happy. Keep up the good creative work!

That is a nice way of taking care of kids and parents. These ideas are definitely innovative.
In fact a teacher has a great impact on the minds of people. With emphasis on practical things, it is much easier to remember things.
Artwork increases the imaginative powers of a person. Any effort in promoting it is greatly appreciated.

I think artwork is very important. It gives me a chance to teach the children in a fun way.

They did a wonderful job with their paintings as they do like fireworks. That was very creative of you to give them a project like that and looks like they had a good time. Did they enjoy that activity? Very good choice of colors with the fourth of July coming up.

Yes they did enjoy the activity. They also thought I was a little crazy for letting them paint with toothbrushes.

It is certainly cute- I bet the kids had a blast painting- Painting was one of my daughter’s favorite thing to do- You’re pretty brave- Was there a BIG mess to clean up after. You are a pretty cool daycare provider- I bet the kids love coming- Crafts a lot- fun things- Keep showing us the wonderful crafts!

No there wasn't a big mess. I learned long ago how to do messy crafts without the big mess. I sit at the end of the daycare table and have one child on each side of me. So I only have 2 children at a time painting and I am right there to catch any messes as they are made. The other children wait their turn by sitting at the daycare table and coloring. It works out really well.

I thank you for all the great craft ideas that you post. They are really good activities to keep kids busy. I like to copy them and give them to a friend of mine who works at a daycare. She likes your ideas. I have also made a copy for me to keep because I may need crafts at a later time. My daughter is sixteen and not really into crafts any more.

Yes, it looks like fireworks to me. Very cute idea. Where do you get all of your ideas? I am keeping a list of everything you have shared with us to do with my son someday. You should start a blog and update it with your latest projects. Mom's would visit it like crazy and you could make some money. (maybe you do this already, I'm not sure). I just know that you have really cute ideas.
You are a blessing for the lucky parents who have found you.

Thank you so much!! Alot of my craft projects are ideas I've come up with over the years. I've been in the childcare business for 20 years. Each year I like to add new ideas, such as the Fireworks project we did today. Sometimes I just stand in front of my arts & crafts cabinet and look through my supplies and little ideas start coming to me.
I never thought about starting a blog. That's an interesting idea.

I think they look great. Yes, they do look like fireworks. What a fun thing for the kids to do. I bet they enjoyed it. There is so many fun things that you can get things to do. My kids loved doing art when they were little. They still do.
Best wishes to you, daycarepal

the fire works look great. Yes to me they look like fire works. How do you come up with such great things for the kids to do? How many children do you have and what are the ages? I want to come and stay at your day care.LOL

Hey come on over, we would love to have you LOL!! I've been in the business for 20 years (I'm showing my age now!), so I try to keep a sample of each project so I can repeat the craft another year. Sometimes I come up with ideas to add to it.
Right now the youngest in my daycare will be 2 years old in Sept. The oldest is 5 years old and will leave me in September to go off to kindergarten.

That's a very cute art piece. I actually used to help out a woman who owned a home owned daycare and I was basically her "Arts" person. She wasn't so great with the creativity so I'd come over and do art projects and such with the kids... take them out to play and such. Since I was a lot younger (late teens) I could still jump around and be all crazy with them more so than she could (who was in her 40's at the time). It was fun doing art with the little kids.

I'm in my 40's and yep, sometimes it is hard to jump around and be all crazy with the kids. Although I do my best. But it sure would be nice to have someone young come in once a week and take over for me.

yeah it was fun. I enjoyed it most of the time. i'd watch them while she'd go to a dr's appointment or something. I actually came over twice a week to relieve her for about two hours on a regular basis. Mostly the kids wanted me to play outside with them and didn't quite grasp that I was too big to slide down the slides and stuff. Silly kids.

What a cute idea! I may just have to try that with my kids. What ages were the kids that were working on this? Do you think my almost 3 year old could do it? I suppose it won't matter too much as long as it's washable paint, and she has fun, right? LOL!
Thanks for sharing all of your little artists' work.

The youngest child that did the project will be 2 years old in September. The oldest child is 5 years old. Both kids had fun with the project. The 5 year old told me I was a "silly girl" because I let them use toothbrushes to paint with LOL.

Yes, they do look like fireworks and I may use this as an art project for my kids at some time in school this next year. Being a home school mom and not being artistic makes the art classes a little hard to deal with and so usually I just decide to do a project of some kind. Thanks for the neat idea!!

It does look like fireworks. You are so wonderful to work with the kids the way you do. I, as a parent appreciate daycare workers such as yourself. I have had many horrors in daycare. To see people like you that work with the children and take the time and patience is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you! In the news and on tv you always hear about daycare horror stories. You never hear stories about good, quality daycare that is out there. I think it's important for parents to know that it does exist.

Glad you enjoy it. Tomorrow we are making crowns with red, white and blue stars glued on them. I'm thinking we might also make wands and then we can march around outside.
