When a discussion fits in many mylot interests, how do you choose where to put it?
Do you put it in the most accurated "interest" or in the one that has more people?
Would the discussion be more popular if you put it in a more general "interest"? Is it wrong to use that "tactic"?
Have you ever been tented to repeat the discussion in different interests? (Maybe changing it a little to avoid it getting deleted)...

Most mylot discussions should go in one catagory, the toilet bowl. Then you have three options, You can stare at it, close the lid, or flush. Or you can add to it.

Sometimes it's pretty obvious where a discussion needs to go. For example if I'm starting a discussion about Cats, then it should go in that interest.
For the few times I wasn't sure which category to put a discussion in, I did select the more popular topic with more people.
I have never repeated the same topic with different wording under another interest. I've seen other people do it, but I don't want to risk getting my discussion deleted.

Easy for reply and simple as style, the topics what are more common and valide for all people. There is no tactic. We all are different and the way we post our discussions depends of our individuality. I dont think specially how to attract more visitors. I just write about the things what are interesting for me and hope that they will be interesting for the others too.
/I have no deleted discussions/

I use general most of the time, for two reasons, A-I can't figure out where to put it and B-So my posters don't have to deal with that stupid Interest page after posting. I don't repeat posts, it's tempting, but not worth the risk of having those that replied to have their points deleted.

I would not put it in the "general" interest category but if it was close to a couple of choices I would put it in the one with the most people.

I will look for the appropriate interest which is more related to my discussion. After all, all discussions are eligible to come under 'general interest', 'life in general' and 'life'. I never intended to repeat any of my discussions.
Thank you Missak for asking

Normally I place it where it's best suited.
Although if it's not in my interests such as "hobbie"... flying, I would ask the question in "sites I visit" mylot because I'm not adding something I don't have interest in at this currant moment :)
I don't really think it would be out righteous. :)

sometime it confused me too.sometime i was starting a post ,i realise that the interest where i have to post, have less people.
for example, i have started a topic on metabolism so i created "metabolism" as "health condition i concerned".after creating that interest i realized only me have that interest.i want to put my discussion on a popular interest but how can i post "metabolism" topic in "mylot"!finally i put it on metabolism itself!
i never repeat or repost in another interest.most of my responses are from my friends so i dont have to care about interest section!

No, I usually pick the interest it most relates to. Whether it be life, life in general, Mylot, etc. I see so many times topics in Mylot that truly belong elsewhere, such as romance or life. I think people should take more time and care as to where they are tagging their discussions to. I have never wanted to repeat a discussion in other interests either. I feel if I tag it right the first time, it will be just fine.

I'm fairly new here and usually have the opposite problem of there not being an interest for me to put a discussion in. Somehow in a response I did I ended up adding the interest of Life, but it is under hobbies which doesn't seem a good fit to me, but I put some discussions there just because I'm not aware of anywhere else to put them. I would like to discuss some comics from the newspapers, but I really don't consider that a hobby so I haven't yet just because I have no place to put it. I haven't double posted even though one of my interests has two names, one with a "the" in front and one without it, so there are two interests threads for what is the exact same thing.

Sometimes it happen to me that one discussion could go in more then one interest. I will try to really choose the one that go the most with it, not the one that has the most people in it. That,s why tag exist. If you put the right tag after that people will easily see your discussion.
When I start using mylot I was always putting everythibg in general, but it's better to really put it in a specefic interest. Less people will see it in the general section.

If the discussion would fit in several interests, I would put it in the one with more people. If it is specific to one interest I would put it under the correct interest. I think the idea of posting a discussion is to get a decent number of responses so I take that into consideration when I'm deciding what interest to put it under.
I wouldn't try to post the same topic under several interests, but sometimes there might be something related to previous topic but not the same. That would be okay to post. But I don't think it would be good to try to alter a topic just to post it a second time without it being deleted.
I guess if you had a topic and you realized that you posted it under the wrong discussion and you really wanted answers to your question, I personally would not criticize you for posting it a second time, but I think mylot might catch it and delete it.
