Easy way to spot spam e-mails

I just received an e-mail represented as being from PayPal stating there had been foreign attempts to log into my account and to follow a link. How do I know it is spam? GRAMMAR ERRORS! Any e-mail you get that is allegedly from a reputable company and contains grammar errors is spam. The real company has enough sense to have a qualified writer/editor working for them. If you are not sure that your grammar skills are good enough to pick out errors, copy the message and post it into MS Word or your normal word processing program. It will pick up most grammar errors for you. NEVER follow the links in these messages. If you are still not sure, find the real company's website online and copy the e-mail into the "contact us" form. The company will tell you whether it is legitimate.
