I wanted a tatoo of the Sublime sun.

They couldn't do it because it was too detailed.
They said that if I really wanted it, I'd have to get a huge one on my back or a little one without as many details.
Should I even bother?

I think I would go to other places and get some more opinions from the artists that tattoo. Is the place you went to reputable? Did you look at their image books, of the work they've done? I know there are some great artists out there that can do detailed things. Maybe the person you went to isn't confident enough that they can do a good job. I'd keep checking around.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I'm thinking of trying Lucky's in North Hampton, I've heard good things about that place. The place I went to was the Pisst Fish. My mom and brother had all their tatoos done there but there's only one girl out of the whole staff that they'll trust.
They showed me one or two tatoos they did for the Sublime sun but they were both the huge ones on backs. I think that might look weird on someone with my body type.
