Have you ever woke up in the middle of the night (or day) and realise your whole body is paralyse? you cannot move. no matter what you do you just cannot move. then you start thinking about breathing and suddenly you cannot breath! usually after struggling for a whil;e you 'wake up'. sometimes you wake up to the same situation and you'd see a dark shape walking up to you and sitting on top of you and you cannot breath. i have read somewhere where psychologist have described it as a 'phantom phenomenon'. anyone experience this? i use to, while still in high school.

It's called 'sleep paralysis'. It happens when your brain is awake but the rest of your body is still asleep. It hasn't happened to me yet, but my roommate once experienced it. Sounds pretty scary.

yes that sounds about right. the brain is wide awake and the rest of the body is asleep like sleeping beauty. the worst part is if you are concious of your breathing, you actually STOP breathing!
