how did your wedding day go? Mine turned out fine in the end but I had my doubts for a moment. I got married 4 years ago now in a little scotish town called Gretna Green, some of you may have heard of of it as it was famed for youngster eloping. any way the day before the sun was bright and the sky did not have a cloud in sight so I thought all was looking good, for those that know Scotland there summer is classed as that hour of sun they get on a Friday afternoon.
The morning of the big day comes and I open my curtains to see that it is lashing down. Oh dear i thought. I went down for breakfast and my best man give me a card from my wife to be with a little not inside and a chain that I still wear today. I went upsatirs and got my kilt on. I am half Scotish so I was not just doing it for the fun of it.
Then the waiting started the car was only late by 30 minutes, I was getting calls from the mother in law to be, I was making calls and it was all a bit manaic. Any way the car arrived and calm was restored. so everyone by this point had gone on and there was just me and my best man, we had a little male bonding moment and got in the car, he asks me "are you alright kid, its not to late to pull out" and then he has a little laugh to himself, like I need that thought in my head right now.
and we are off down the raod and on to this single express way that seems to go on forever. half way down and the car starts to play up, we get about 2 miles from our destination and the car gives up the ghost. OH MY GOD WHAT AM I GOING TO DO???? that is all that is going round in my head, my wife is always late for things and I said if you late to the wedding I am not getting married to you.
so here I am in my kilt on the side of a busy scotish road and what do you know some old guy stops and offers me and my best man a lift. this guy saved the day I am sure of it.
after a hectic morning me and the wife fianly managed to tie the knot and we are now very happy.
so how was your wedding day?

Mine was in Early September and where I'm from it's just about fall that time of year and I had an outdoor wedding so everyone was scared that it would be too cold. I'm not the type of person to change what I want so I did it anyway. In the morning it was raining and I cried and cried. About 20 minutes to the wedding it stopped and we had the wedding. It was just beautiful. Then right after and I mean right after it started sprinkling again. I was amazed. The reception was perfect too. Everyone was dancing and talking. We had the best time. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. I loved every minute of it. But I would never do it again. Too Stressfull

Our wedding was a Christmas wedding and we were disappointed we didn't get more snow. We wanted lots of snow. But everything went off without too much of a hitch, except for that guy that stepped on my dress as I walked down the isle.
By the way, my husband LOVES his kilt. He would wear it everyday if he could. He is 100% Irish but loves his kilt. I am Scottish/Irish/French and wish that would could have had either a Celtic wedding or a Scottish one...maybe for our vow renewal in 50 yrs.

Wow!!! It sounds like you had quite a day. I'm glad someone offered you a ride. So, was your wife late to the wedding? LOL I bet you both laughed at the irony of you almost being late, and all. I'm not married yet, but I will be in the near future. Let's see what happens.

I hated my wedding, thinking about it depresses me. There were so many issues around the wedding that weighed the joyous occassion down. The wonderful day that I had always dreampt about was awful!
According to everyone that I ask, I only have myself to blame. I was told that the mind can make a hell out of heaven and a heaven out of hell. The hell that I experienced should have been put out of my mind but on that day and about six months after that day I just cried when I thought about my wedding day.
I was finally able to look at the wedding video and pictures without crying about 4 years ago.
The only good thing that came out of the wedding was that I married my husband. Wish that we could have eloped!
