The last few days we have burning heat at my country. The temperature is over 45C at the shadow. We had many problems with the bigger of all the electricity. From too much use of air conditions the power goes down and we stay with no electric for few hours every day. They cut twice at my place not for long and the worse is when the electric goes and comes in few seconds. Many TV,refrigerators,PC ...etc,they burn because of it.
Do you have electricity problems with the burning heat at your place,or maybe you are so lucky and never have so high temperatures at your country?

In my area we had 8-10 hrs of power shortages. You can imagine how miserable it has been.

Yes, it is very much there. If face power cuts frequently in our cit. Electricity sometimes goes off for hours together. We cannot do anything...it is in the hands of Govt. (I mean it is not private). We face it....in whatever manner we can.

I agree entirely with you...we must save electricity, whenever possible.
Have a Great Day!

It get very hot here some days its up to 98F and that is hot.
We are lucky enough not to have a problem with the electricity going out.
Now Im not going to say it never happens but it has not happened yet this year and if we are lucky it will not happen.
Im sorry about your heat problem I hope you find ways to keep cool.

Oh dear, I am so sorry for you. I understand very well. I live in the USA, but in the desert, away from the cities. It is so hot I cannot stand to go out. The sun burns your skin and it hurts. It gets up to 125 degrees. My air conditioner broke last week. I was so ill for 15 hours in the house. It took two days to get over it. We also have problems with water. Our well breaks, and we have no running water for 1 to 3 days. No fun either. God bless you sugar, hope you don't have that often.

oh yes, aidonia, that is quite a problem here in my place as well. come summer and it starts on major power shortage and as a result big scale loadshedding!! its killing especially when we can't at all beat the heat. it gets increasingly difficult to survive for ppl not having a generator or inverter, most of them don't. i have installed UPS to my computer to save it from burning. i have had it once before. so, once bitten twice shy. lol..
the temperature is around 40C and its sultry and annoyingly sticky. blessed us who can stay indoor in AC comfort. but i just pity the daily wagers who have to go out no matter what!
try and beat the heat, sweetie. hydrate yourself and eat lots of fruits and veggies.
smilse...

Wow... I don't envy you that heat. I don't think I could stand it! I doubt we have ever been known to reach those temperatures in the UK, probably the highest ever is around 35C.
Lately, we have been suffering torrential rain, thunder and hail storms as well as high winds and have a lot of the central and nothern parts of the country under water, so I suppose we all get extremes in some way.
I hope your heat decreases to where you can be comfortable soon, and that ours increases to summer warmth. Enough is enough, my friend, and I shall be glad to get back to normal. ha ha ha
Brightest Blessings.

I hope your heat wave has broken by now my friend :)It's very seldom that it gets unbearably hot where I live although I can't say that about the cold. On the rare occasion that it reaches into the 90's we tough it out as we don't have air conditioning. I've found a cold cloth on draped around my neck to be very refreshing on those days.

You mean the electricity was cut off due to the high temperature? Or was it the infrastructure that stops the electricity supply due to overheating? I would say I am lucky that so far the temperatures here in Singapore has not rise over 40C. If it is slightly higher than the normal, there would be bush fires.

We're having a heat wave now, plus high humidity...I actually had to get offline of my computer due to the terrible thunder/lightening storms last night and the danger of a blackout..there were some blackouts all around the big apple (NY)..baked apple is right!! LOL During the summer I never keep too much iin my refrigerator...just in case--would hate to have a stock up fridge/freezer only to have a blackout and have to throw everything out

It is very hot in Chicago, but we don't have any problem with electricity.
I am indoors for last few days because it is too hot. I walk my dogs only late at night.....
I have full supply of ice and ice cream to cool me down.
It is about 34C right now, so it is not as bad....
Aidonia, stay in shade, take a sun umbrella and stay inside if possible. Heat is not good for you.
Drink a lot.
Cooling hugs!

my dear aidonia, as you know Italy is very similar to Greece and we have just had the hottest day of all with 45 °C in the south..so electricity is an increasing concern in Italy, too because of the increasing need of air conditioned..they say that we have enough power for all the nation at least until now..now the weather is getting cooler and everything is under control..so let's hope for the best..but of course the government is strongly advising people against any waste of electricy unless they want them to cut the electricity for nation's sake!!! so we are paying more and more attention to energy and everything seems ok!!! I hope things are getting better there too!!!

Here in India we also face hot and the same problem of electricity. It is really unbearable to stay without electricity at this hot.
We face about 4-5 hrs a say here and in some places it is more or less 2-3 hrs minimum.
Actually the natural resources that was used to generate power (coal) is diminishing day by day. It will create more problem if alternative sources are not made available at cheap cost.

Here on Saipan we also suffer from electricity problems, the rates are too high!
It wasn’t always like that though; it all started in January of this year when the Legislators decided that we the people had to begin to pay for their mistakes. They started to charge us “fuel surcharge” to make up for all the money that they have lost.
For the past few months we have been cutting down on the air conditioner, even when the heat is unbearable we use the fan. We don’t turn on the lights unless it is really necessary!
