Does anyone cash in bottles or cans? I live in Florida! Where would I go to cash in bottles or cans? Moneys really tight right now and at the apartments we live at there are a lot of teenagers and younger adults. And there always leaving cans and bottles around the swimming pool. We always clean it up because we don't want any of our friends here getting in trouble. I just wish there was a way to make that 5 cents a bottle.. I would make like 4-5 bucks a night. It would be great.. So if anyone knows, please share!

Hey. I know people who do cash in on aluminium cans not so much bottles though... But they will go to all lengths to get these cans... And cashing them in brings you a big whack of cash, depending on the weight of the cans... I dont really know how they weigh it up and all, but i do know people who are paid out good money from cashing in on Aluminium cans...

wow! if only it were that easy where I live!
Here, the recycling companies pay by weight!
For about 60 soda pop cans, we get about a dollar. About USD 50-60 cents!
And it is usually the rag-n-bone man, or retired old people who are poor who goes for these cans at food outlets and eateries.

Here in the US, there is a couple (in California) who were Mexican immigrants who put their children through college doing this; there was a segment on them some months ago on television. Of course, they did it from sun up to sun down and had to go to some unsavory places, but it shows what you can do if you are really determined!

wow... putting their kids thru college from bottles and cans?
That is a really amazing feat!
The determination of the parents are really admirable!
Imagine the amount of bottles and cans they have to pick in order to earn enough to afford their fees!
Then again, on the other hand, imagine the amount of waste that we as humans generate?
It is enough to send kids through college!
Wow! Thanks for sharing that nugget of info! It is really an eyeopener!

I think the opportunities depend on your local community. I don't live in Florida, but you could contact your local recycling center and ask. In Illinois where I live, we have machines where you can dump in your soda cans, and out come quarters. Never make that much, just a few bucks, but who couldn't use a couple of dollars every now and then? Plus, you are recycling the cans.

Sorry don't live in Florida, but you could ask at the grocery store, as somebody will know the answer. I use to live in Oregon and would bring them back to the grocery store, but in California there is a building near some grocery stores and recycling centers are in the telephone book. Good luck and hope you find a place right away that takes them.

I do recycle at times mainly brass and cooper because that is the most beneficial. At times I collect aluminum cans around the house and stock- pile them for about a month and then go and recycle them, when I need fast cash. Its okay and I make like $20.00 in one shot, so it helps a lot.
I haven’t done it in over a month though because summer is in and my kids are home, therefore I don’t have that much time anymore
