External Hard Drive

I want to get an external hard drive for my music, videos and pictures. Does anyone have any reccomendations? I am looking to spend under $100. I would like around 50 gb and a decent speed. I have been looking around but nothing has really caught my eye yet. Size and shape are not an issue.

Anything really, there isn't much diversity in hard drives other than size and speed. If you are just storing files and don't need to transport them why not just get an internal drive, their not to hard to install. In external you can get both firewire and usb, firewire is faster but you will want usb if you don't have a firewire port on your machine.

I have a laptop so an internal hard drive is not going to work.

Good point, just to let you know too if you have a internal hard drive you can purchase a case or usb cord for it to make it usable externally. Check out newegg.com for deals on any hardware.

100 dollars are enough to get the 100 Gb of external HDD try to check good shops for the cheap price but better in quality never buy it online it will cost you more.

$100 is much more than enough to have a 50gb portable harddisk... you can buy the harddisk and the casing separately

You can built your own external hardrive and get more than 50GB or you ca look for a branded one.
