trusting enough to open up

It's hard for me to open up to anyone due to lack of trust but I have been told I am a great listener also because of my lack of trust it has made me the kind of person who keeps the confidence of who is opening up to me. Yet I still find it hard to open up to anyone. I have been a loner most of my life but I enjoy helping others even if its a shoulder they need of someone they can trust. I once was an internet shoulder for people to unload on and I did help a few people it was really cool for me. anyone else have trusting issues or no one to confide in?

have you been betrayed before? maybe that's why you're having a hard time trusting people. I've never been a good listener. i do the talking most of the time. i guess i'll never pass as a good friend.

Yes I have many times but the last time was the worst. Talking a lot doesn't make you any less of a friend it takes many different kinds of people to be a friend not just listeners.
