Do you have friends or family in the military?

How many people in here have friends or family in the military? I have a sister who's in the army. She also married someone in the army so now there is two of them. My husbands brother in law is also in the military. I feel frightened for them because I know that any day they could be deployed. My sister never has been but I dont want her too. She has a 1 year old baby boy and he would be devastated without his momma or daddy.

My husband is currently at basic training for the National Guard.

Sadly yes! My ex (who happens to be my sons father) is in the Army. I actually just spoke to him the other day because he was hoping to come home and see his son. But unfortunatly he is not going to be able to come this time. When he called to tell me, he also let me know that he would definitly be coming home in October because in November he is being shipped to Iraq for 15 months. Now granted we ended up splitting up because of some personal issues, but I am still worried about him because he is my sons father.

I would be worried too! You never forget the history you have with someone and the love that you had for them. It's probably really hard for your son not getting to see his father. My sister is not only in the military but she is also in college to be a doctor. Plus on top of being a mom. Her husband is moving to Maryland and they have to stay apart because he is needed for animal research. My sister cant leave because they wont let her finish her schooling in that state. I know this is a different situation but the point is that he will be away from his son also and his wife. They wont get to actually move with him until next year. My brother in law has already been deployed once and I hope not again, nor her either.
