I heard from the television a report about a new rule that the church will be implementing. They will be restricting people who goes to church who wears inappropriate clothes. Plunging necklines, micro minis, backless and other revealing outfits are not allowed inside the church. As for the men, wearing of sando, shorts and rubber slippers won't be allowed. Do you agree with these rules? I personally believe that women should not wear revealing outfits because it is not appropriate when going to church. Remember why we go there on Sundays. WE came there to be in God's presence, not attract other church goers. As for the men, there are poor people who could not afford to buy decent shoes but I guess its acceptable to wear walking shorts that are not filthy and tattered. So long as they look presentable and clean is okay. While its true that God doesn't care what we wear, it wouldn't be too much too ask if we wear something decent when inside the church right? There are other occassions where we could wear our sexy clothes where we could show off our curvy body, but the church is not one of them.

I don't agree of it. however, we cannot blame the church for this kind of dress code since there are many people who dress indecently inside churches. but to implement a dress code like this is too much of being overreacting. its like suppressing the freedom of a person to dress how they want and forcing the less fortunate to dress beyond how they can. I mean, if its summer and its hot and one would want to wear clothes that bare skin and prevent themselves from sweating too much and getting a heatstroke, would the church official stop them from going inside the church? if a homeless man wearing dirty clothes wants to pray inside the church would the church officials prevent him from doing so? I mean, a dress code like this is too strict. why can't they just remind people about it during homilies? and besides, there's nothing in the 10 commandments that say you can't wear this, this and that and so and so... ^__^

Catholic churches are conservative. I think its not too much to ask for the woen not to wear "revealing" clothes when going to church. What is the purpose anyway? If we talk about the climate, of course its reasonable for some of us to wear light clothes. But is micro mini in a church reasonable? Or a plunging neckline? Come on, those clothes are good for night outs, gimmick nights with friends but not inside the church. Since you brought up about homeless people, well, that's a different case. When you see a homeless person, you know immediately that they have no means of being able to wear decent clothes. What the church would like to restrict is wearing of "daring clothes", not filthy tattered clothes. I doubt that homeless people can have the guts to wear micro minis and a backless. You are also right about not being part of the 10 commandments. But if you are the cause of temptation, then you have caused your brother to sin. If you really think about it, its not too strict. It's just inside the church that they want to prevent wearing those clothes. And besides, how often do people go to church? It's just on Sundays. So really, will it hurt us to give that only day or a fews hours on a Sunday not to wear those clothes?

i am also against of those wearing revealing outfits. the matter that i dont agree with is that they had to implement a dress code. a dress code? sounds like a law to me. and its kind of a violation of freedom. i mean, what's the use of the homily part of a mass if they wont use it to remind those that wear such dress? and its like the church is saying that they havent changed after all these years. they are as much as a conservative before and its like being too marcos-ish. the church should learn how to be liberated a bit and should go along with the flow sometimes. they have to think of new strategies to teach people especially the teenagers because we are now living in the modern times. old and conservative ways are now hard to accept. ^__^

Thank you for agreeing with me. People whould be more conscious on how they dress. They should consider the place where they are going to. It should correspond on what attire they should be wearing. It doesn't matter if you look good on what you wear or if its a branded dress. It's important to consider other people's thoughts and feelings. It mght feel good to be getting those attention but not in he way that you want it to be.
