Does body odour turn you off?

They say that everyone has a specific body odour. Animals identify one another by body odour and even use their body odour to attract their mates. But we try to hide our body odour with the help of perfumes. Many of us consider our natural body odour as something shameful. What is your take on this topic?

Body odor is not in itself bad, but when those bacteria get to feasting on it it is rank. I find the most trouble with my husband wearing a shirt for a short while, but then hanging it on a hook. If it has any sweat, by the next day the shirt is much worse than a body ever could be! I think it is even worse when perfume or scented deodorants are layered over it. The smelliest person I ever worked with wore wool flannel shirts, never or seldom had them washed and smoked a pipe. It was very disgusting.

Well framkly - yes - it does. The idea of being "trapped" on a bus or tube train with a bunch of sweaty bodies in the height of Summer, makes me feel quite ill. And in the past, I have been knwn to move my seat at a concert or sporting event because the body odour of a person near me was too overpowering for me. And certainly, the idea of having ay kind of relationship with a man that didn't place hygeine very high on his list of priorities!

When I had body odor in the past, I've gotten grossed out. This was back when I was just begining to wear it, so I'd forget to put it on sometimes and WHEW! It was offensive!
I remember I tried to wash my armpits in the school sink (with that soap that didn't smell much better than BO) but after a few minutes the odor just kept coming back.....I actually wound up calling my mom and went home because I was so embarrassed and afraid someone would smell me.
When I have kids and they're in the 7th and 8th grades, I'm going to make a point to put deodorant in their backpacks so they won't have to go through what I felt ;)

I live in place with hot and humid climate, the body odor of some people gets suffocating sometimes, where as if some one wearing a very pleasant and mild perfume comes near me I enjoy it. Body odor is not shameful just uncomfortable for those who come close to us, We do not realize that because our nose can adapt to any smell good or bad within a few minutes.

I hate body odour, it is a real turn off, to me if a person has body odour is is because of a lack of hygiene, I know that some people out there have medical problems which can cause problems but for the most of us that is not the case. I used to have a real problem with sweating because of a medication that I was on but always showered alot and used alot of deoderants and this didnt become a problem for me!
