how do you know if someone is lying ?

I can tell when my husband is lying from his voice. It just sounds different when he lies. I think it has something to do with heart rate which affects vocal pitch or something.

I feel one can make out if person is lying by the body language of the person. If the person seems nervous or is acting in strange manner or seems uncomfortable or is not their usual self one can sense that their's something fishy. Moroever if you look deep in their eyes it will be tough for them to lie as eyes can tell diffferent story. Moreover if person is taking pause or is not speaking fluently one can make out that he or she is telling a story.

Yes, I believe that you can see in a person's eyes if he or she is lying to you. Well, that is, unless the person is so used to lying that it doesn't affect him or her at all. My ex is a chronic liar. He's so good at it that you just can't tell which one is the truth and which one is the lie any longer. I think that is so pathetic. Each time the truth is discovered, he loses the truth is discovered, he actually loses the trust from the person he is talking to. I think even the lie detector couldn't probably detect his lies any longer. I used to tell him that he always reminded me of the boy who cried "wolf!" This kid kept lying and lying until no one believed him when he was already actually telling the truth.

Hello,unuzz,i think the first thing you can notice if someone is lying is to lookat their eyes,if they try to avoid any eye contact with you,they must be lying,or if they are rolling their eyes around,they are trying to making something up from their minds. Also,you can try to see whether they speak with clear voices,if they do not ,probably,they may be hiding something. I am not an expert and i have been cheated by some people before,so i do not know whether my thought is correct or not.

Maybe the person you asked already lied and you were just naive to identify it with his eyes because as you've said the person is a great actor. Or maybe he wasnt lying at all. We can only see in in their eyes if we really know the person. Just like my husband, I know he's lying through his eyes.

As you have said they are great actors. It's hard to detect if the person is lying even if you're already doubtful of his actions. Some made them a habit. You have to search, investigate secretly to find the truth.

well,in normal situation,personally i think,we can judge from one's eyes whether he or she is lying or not;it will do us a great favou.But on special conditions,such as a actor or a person who got accustomed to being nervous when taling to others,it is hard to say!

how would i know? well, how about if the other person that u r suppose to find out whether lying or not is eventually on the other side of the planet? what i mean is if ever both of you guys were changing topics through the net! how can you ever possibly know that the person lied? well, theres no big deal about it!they can lie all they want, who cares? just think again, me neither!
