Do you think your zodiac sign affects your personality and your destniny?

Do you think that your zodiac sign(western or Chinese horoscope) can have an effect on ones personality or by some extent on ones destiny? I always think of myself as a Cartesian but I have to admit that I have come across people who share the same zodiac sign and roughly share the same traits. Give me your views on the subject.

Hi and yes. I do agree that the time one is born can have an effect on ones personality in the same way the the moon cycles can effect our moods. It's all up there and out there and it's all much bigger than we are - OR is it the other way around? Are the beliefs that we hold in these cosmic connections actually creating the reality? Are we subconsciously shaping our personalities to fit our zodiac signs? An odd question, i know. I am a Leo and the personality traits that are characteristic of a Leo are traits that i do possess and i have been this way for as long as i can remember. I know that i do not get along with other leos. There is always a clash of EGO. They are TOO much like me. I always befriend Libras immediately but that get quite annoyed with them after awhile. Taurus persons have always been long time friends of mine. Capricorns work too much but are very responsible. Strange isin't it?

Well thanks for your answer. This is exactly the question I keep asking myself. Don't you feel that if, as you say our personality is shaped by the cosmos and that we are like puppets subjected to our fate.

Thanks for the comment LRB1111, I think I like that theory best. I don't like the idea of having my destiny and personality being governed by other powers than my own will. I do think that we are under the influence of cosmic powers which shapes our personality and to some extent our destiny. However I also think that we have the ability to change things and choose our own destiny.

Well i believe that in some way it is affecting our personality. My zodiac is pisces. I have read info about my zodiac and I can say that there are traits that I can relate to. I also compare myself with my other Piscean friends and it seems that in some way we share the same traits.

im pisces too...yes in someway, but i believe that what you are is really who you really are coz god made you that way...

thanks for the comment shadjee:) I totally agree with you on this one. I do share common traits with people of the same sign as me. And I sometimes ask for people zodiac sign to round up their personality. I don't think it is a good thing though as I tend to have preconceived ideas about people I don't even know according to their signs.

Perhaps, zodiac signs affect only the personality of those that read about them

Yes, and I was suggesting that it is the reading of those that, if there is any affect on personality, is the causative factor.

Thanks for sharing your opinion Urban. I was not talking of daily predictions newspaper. I was asking about the general traits that characterizes one zodiac sign which you can find in people who bare that sign.

i'm not actually into it, but somehow i believe it will affects on every personality but to the DESTINY? hmmm, i don't think so... zodiac signs perfectly says about us so yes it is BUT! for every human being destiny i think it's only GOD and the persons was controlling it and making it :D i like your post!

Honestly, this amazes me because I've also and still do read articles about my zodiac sign and mostly almost every description fits mine. However even if I wanna believe it, I don't rely or entrust my future to astrology. I believe in God and His existence and I only entrust my life to Him =).
