If someone is talking... how to shurt his or her mouth?

I got some family problem with my husband's brother and his wife; we live in the same house and every morning i hear my sister-in-law talking about me and my husband with our maid! Actually i am not in good terms with her and she is always talking bad things about me and she talk it loud so that i can hear what she is saying!
I really hate that! If you were in my situation what are the steps you would take? I cant be rude with her because i dont want to hurt them... please help me with your advice

I think it is best to avoid them.Some people are like this.They don't get along with anybody.I think you should concentrate on your life & stop bothering about them.

Sorry to hear that ashgun :( Things like this tend to happen with living with family members and believe you me, I have been through it too. The only way that I was able to resolve it without getting all too upset was to move into our own place. I know that isn't an easy solution but it worked for me!

You could tell your sister in law not to discuss family matters with the maid or (if you don't want to be direct) better still follow her lead, make up a story and tell the maid how someone (your neighbours, cousins, friends) has been discussing family matters with their maid and that you find this totally unacceptable and insensitive. Make sure that your sister in law hears the conversation, I'm sure she'll get the message.

I think you can just keep scilence and do not show your anger about that.then they will stop doing that because they will feel it unfunny to talk bad about you.day after day,they will not do that I think.
