For Philippine mylotters -- dollar or peso account for moneybookers?

Hi. I just want to know if it's possible to have any moneybookers money transferred to a US dollar account here in the Philippines. I have both peso and dollar accounts and I'm wondering if it's better to just keep it in US dollars, hopefully to lessen the fees? Anybody who can shed some light on this?

hi there.. i know its been a year since your post... well, im wondering how this moneybookers account works for us here in the philippines. I'm near to get my first payout, but once i transfer this earnings to moneybookers.com, what will happen next? how will i get my money from them? will they send it to my bank account? or can they send it thru western union? is it safe to give 'em our bank account number? have you received your money already? coz if not, i wont stay on this site any longer. it will be just waste of time posting here and u wont get paid for it.

Hi. At the time I started this discussion, paypal has not yet been available as a payment option for Philippine accounts. But after a while, paypal became available so I signed up for it instead. I've gotten paid already through paypal. Before, when e-gold was still a payment option, I also got my payment through that. I would suggest that you open a paypal account. It's very useful, not only for mylot, but also for other online earning opportunities. It's also used to pay for online purchases and to transfer money. If you're interested in other earning opportunities, you can look at my blog, http://onlineraket.blogspot.com . With paypal, you can have it sent to your bank account. If the amount is more than 7000 pesos, paypal would not charge any fees (but your bank might -- depending on the bank). I haven't withdrawn my paypal money for the simple reason that I'm waiting for the exchange rate to get better. But while the money is there, I have already purchased things online and used paypal to pay for them. My friends, though, have gotten their money sent to their banks.

I recently opened an account from moneybookers also and as far as I can remember I choose a dollar account, Now that I got qualified for the next payment (my first payment ever) I'll see how this works. I am also wondering if how moneybookers will transfer it to our local bank account? would you know how?

I'm afraid I do not know how exactly moneybookers work yet. I've only received payment in e-gold before and it would only be my first time to receive money through moneybookers, if I reach the payout (I'm about 80 cents away...).

hi ethanmama. I haven't heard of moneybookers...do care to share, how did you open an account with moneybookers? I would also prefer to keep it in US dollar for convenience as I also have a US bank account. However, i would usually have to read other pros and cons. Let's see what others have to say. Have a great day :)

Hi, Anna! I was informed by MyLot in their alerts that they would no longer send out payments via e-gold. For people like us who cannot use Paypal to receive payment, the only other option is moneybookers. I am still studying it, but it sounds like it works like PayPal :D In case you want to join under me (yes, they do give "something" if your referral has some sort of activity), my referrer ID is 3722131 in case they ask who referred you. It is up to you, though. I am not forcing you ha.

How come you had a peso account in moneybookers? There's no option for that when I registered. I chose the dollar instead.

My reply is very delayed but probably still timely. Anyway, when I asked that, I was wondering aloud if it's better to just keep my earnings in dollars at a bank here in the Philippines rather than convert it to peso. With the weakening dollar, the best recourse would have been to convert to pesos. I still have some of my mylot earnings in E-gold. It's still there. I wished I had converted it to peso when the exchange rate was better.

hi ethanmama!:) i haven't registered to any of the two. I'm in singapore, and myLot recommends using PayPal instead of moneybookers. But... what if I want to use moneybookers so that the earnings I'll gete from mylot would be to my account in the philippines and not here in singapore?anyway... if ever i can get moneybookers, then I'll use the dollar account... um, is there a big difference for the two moneybookers accounts (i mean with the additional fees or something?)?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Anyway, I do have a moneybookers account, but I never really got around to using it. I was also very intermittent in mylot during the past few months, mainly because of personal issues (got sick, busy with work...you know, the usual) so I haven't really gotten to payout level yet. Anyway, now that paypal is already available in the Philippines, I prefer using that so that I can consolidate all my online earnings (from various endeavors) into paypal. It's easier that way.
