Are you trying to start arguments on My Lot?

Do you try to get people to disagree with you on My Lot?
I've noticed that there are some very argumentative people on My Lot. Of course, maybe they're not really argumentative, perhaps it just comes out that way. Often it's hard to interpret a person's intent from their writing. It's not as if you can hear people speaking here, right?
Persoanlly I never try to get into arguments. It's just not nice. But, I know that some people think I'm argumentative. But, I'm not! Sure, sometimes I will get into a rant over something, and I will sound a bit on edge. But, other than that, I think I'm a pretty level headed person when it comes to posting on My Lot.
What about you?
Do you purposely post controversial topics to to start arguments simply to attract more readers to your discussion? Or, does it just come out that way?

I really don't think I ever created a discussion that caused a fuss..I don't go out looking for those types of discussions either...since I've been here, I've only been in one "arguement" and thats because that person was just mad that I was right and he was ignorant..but no, I really can't even see myself taking an arguement in here seriously..if I see it getting to the point of an arguement, I would just remind that person..its only the internet...

perhaps there are some people who aren't after an argument, but it just comes across that way... but in my view there are alot of people out there wanting to cause a ruckus here on mylot!
some people just enjoy the argument for arguments sake, plus they find that they get the most responses to thier topics.
i don't like to argue, whether in person or on here, so i tend to stay away from most controversy, but other people enjoy these "heated" debates.
my best advice is, if you think a topic is going to turn nasty, stay well away unless you are up for the fight!

No i dont do that here on mylot just to get their attention and just to get many replies from people. Its always nice to start good discussions, though there are times that other uses dont have the same views with us but the argument should not be entertained and given emphasis.

No, I do not try to start arguments on mylot. And I have decided that I for myself do not answer to these discussions any more. I do not like these subjects that are being brought up and I think that if I do not answer them I do not increase the income for the argumentative people. I have decided to ignore them.

I think it would be a bad idea to get in an argument on a site where your earnings are determined by what people think of you. That would be like getting in arguments at work. They wont give you a raise if you can't keep your mouth shut!

I like to ask questions at times to get opinions, but not start a controversy or argue on purpose.

I don't know if I am trying to start arguments, but I do like to post things about stuff that I'm interested in or problems that I'm having. I like to know what others think. But, I don't think I am trying to start an argument.
For me, if I think someone is trying to start an argument, I will not answer that discussion.

I never try to start arguments on mylot. However, I have often started discussions that were about something I was interested in, and found other people to be offended by them. I like to talk about serious subjects sometimes, because it's part of how I learn about myself and grow. Often by writing about things I find my ideas on them evolving and changing, and it's neat when that happens in a forum like this where other people can be a part of it. So there have been times when I offended people just because I held opinions or ideas contrary to their own, even when I was trying to be polite about it.
I guess really for me it just comes down to the fact that much about me is not mainstream, much of my history is not "normal", and so there are a lot of things about me that are automatically offensive to others without my meaning to be. I do my best to always be nice, and if I start a topic about something that offends people, you can be sure I was just trying to learn about other's opinions or connect with other people who can help me with the issue.

I never meant to start any arguments with anybody, but sometimes if I feel that I'm treated unfairly I will definitely complain or go against it. This only happens in real life. In forums I don't remember posting anything just so people argue with me. Of course there are always rude responses or think negatively, but that's just people, not the topics themselves.

i've never started a controversial topic in mylot that could start arguments. and i try not to respond on topics like that too. :)
i don't purposely get other users to disagree with me, it's not in my nature. when i respond to discussions and provide comments, sometimes i disagree with them but i explain why and still respect their opinion for that. true, it really isn't nice to be too disagreeable or naturally argumentative that borders reason. :)
i think i'm naturally argumentative when i firmly believe on something true, but which is being questioned by others. but i've never been in a heated discussion or something. :)

Actually I did not mean to start an argument here but yesterday I posted one discussion which surprised myself to the intensity of that topic. It erupted like a volcano and I can still feel the heat now. I wouldn't want to comment further on the responses for fear that I will add kerosene to the fire. From that discussion a friend had created sub topic to post a discussion, making it top of 'today's hot topics'. She even post a link of my discussion in her discussion. I thank her for the publicity. But what will the impact be on my existense here. I am beginning to doubt. Anyway mylot is all about opinion so everybody is free to pour out what they think and feel.

Sometimes its interesting to post controversial discussions so that many will respond to the post. The purpose of the discussion is to give opinions. It may sound that there are arguements but really, its more of trying to point out each other's different point of views. I like it when people are expressive about what they believe in and that they are willing to explain their side better.

Well I don't know about other people but I usually like to start discussions that I believe members would enjoy and identify with. I don't actually enjoy arguments and stuff like that. I just want to make more and more friends and I have a feeling arguing may not make that possible to achieve. If you look at all my discussions, I believe they are pleasant.
