How do you feel when someone forgets your birthday? Or anniversary date? Today is my birthday and my this morning when I got up (at 6:00)with my BF I made him his lunch for work and his coffee like I do every day. I was not going to remind him that it is my birthday I wanted to see if he would remember. And he forgot to wish me a happy birthday before kissing me good bye! It made me feel sad. It is still bothering me. I will not be home when he gets home today I have plans to go spend the day with my cousin doing something for fun. I am not sure what we are going to do yet. I guess guys are more notorious for "forgetting" these things. That is how I am trying to look at it. And I know he will feel so bad when he gets home and realizes this. My last two birthdays he had flowers delivered to my home. Well I just had to vent and get this off my chest. It's too early in the morning for me to call anyone yet. What about you? If you have forgotten a special occasion date how did you feel? And on the other hand if some one important to you in your life forgot an important date of yours how did it make you feel? Please share.

wow. It feels aweful when somebody fogets ur birthday, but i feel equally horible when i foget somebodys birthday too. Many of my dear fiends are quite forgetful and often seem to forgt my birthday, but get rather mad when i forget theirs or someone who they are really close to.....

My birthday is on Christmas Day and most of my friends and relatives forget my birthday. I am used to it by now but it would bother me when I was young.

Oh yes I know my nieces Birthday is the day after Christmas and I always seem to forget hers too. I guess I should not let it bother me anymore. It's just this morning when I posted this discussion I felt bad. But a lot of other people already called and sent emails to me so now I am feeling better.

First of all Many many Happy returns of the day!! from me. Hope your BF remembers and wishes you too. May be he wants to surprise you. In your situation what I would do is take him out for a dinner and tell him then. He will never forget your birthday ever. But ,Why you need anyone else to celebrate your birth and your life. Make it a day to celebrate your life for yourself. Go out shop for yourself and do something you always wished to do but never could due to other commitments. A very Happy Birthday to you.

I myself haven't forgotten anyones birthday but just recently my birthday was forgotten by my boyfriend and my son. It was kind of upsetting. I thought they were planning something because they were acting different. My daughter-in-law had called and wanted me to watch my two grandkids while they ran some errands. My boyfriend was to go out there and pick the kids up, so I thought they were going to suprise me and all come over. Only the kids came back with him. I was so let down. By later in the evening I couldn't take it anymore and I just started crying. My boyfriend felt really bad as did the others, so they planned a party for me the next day. It was okay but I still can't believe that they forgot. I guess most of the time woman are much better at remembering things like that. BTW, Happy Birthday!

Happy belated Birthday to you also. And don't feel bad my son never called me yesterday either. so he also forgot. My cousin gave me a surprise birthday party and my Bf went to the bar right from work still not knowing what was going on so I didn't even see him at all yesterday. I was in bed by the time he got home. But oh yes I rubbed it in his face this morning. He said I should of wrote it on the calender like I have done in the past. I guess maybe I should have. thanks Brendalee!

Happy belated birthday to you, stjohnson628! My husband always remember our anniversary and my family remembers my birthday, too! I feel special on this day. I guess I would be sad too if they wouldn't call me or didn't wish me a happy birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! No, if my bf forgot I would be soooo sad and I would have a hard time getting over it. Maybe he just pretended to forget so that he could surprise you later. My bf still has not forgotten anything - but when and if he does I will be sad. special days are made to be remembered.

There have been a few times I've forgotten a birthday - the worst was one year I forgot my own mom's. It just happened I called the house that day to ask my step-father something and he kept saying 'Don't you have something to say to your Mom?' finally it hit me :( I felt horrible but was very thankful Jim reminded me in his way.

The way how I remember lots of my friends birthday is setting it up on yahoo as an alert or even on my PDA and my computer. I do not let that bother me about birthdays, when I was younger I did as I wanted presents, but now that I am grown, I do not care if my fiance forgets as it will be a part of life. it does not make her a bad person, nor does it make me a bad person, if I should forget hers. We both find time for each other on a regualr basis. We got out to eat sometimes, I cook for us and she cooks for us and we love each other. Themain focus should be does he/she love me enough to be there for me when I need them or not. In my opinion, you should not worry about it. Just sing Happy birthday to yourself and when he comes in he may take you out to eat, etc. If this is still bothering you, just tell him how you feel and ways he can always remember not just your birthday, but other things that needs to be done. You have a great day!

Yes i have tried that. Last year my father turned 55 and i thought about it in the morning before work, but i knew he had been at work all night so it was better to let him sleep. I forgot about it at work and in the evening i went out with some friends and i forgot all about my fathers birthday. I called next morning and he was a little bit sad.

Ok..Wish U a very Happy Birthday........ Well..Mistakes are by birth. U shouldn't feel that bad. We some times forget important days and hurt others. But one should think practically..there msy be many reasons for frogetting... Important: May be ur BF is trying to surprise U this evening with a good gift pretending as if he donot know ur birth day..........Hope the same.....keep smiling..BYE

For some unknown reason I always forget my youngest daughter's birthday. I on'rt really forget but it sneaks up on me and I'm forever late with a gift or card. I ate doing that. it makes me feel terrible about but no matter what I do just keep gorgetting it. Until this year. I was able to get her a gift and card to her early. She must have faiinted. For my self just a mention of my berthday any more is evough. I just really don't want things any more. I have enough to take care of.

Is he going through some kind of stress or problems? There may be a good reason he forgot this year. I've been lucky enough, that my birthday, and other holidays or special days are usually not forgotten by others. I will admit that I have a terrible memory, and I usually forget everything. Everyone I know gets a call 2 to 4 weeks after their birthday from me. They all expect it. The only one who gets upset if I forget to call on the day is my mom. Dang near anything upsets here though. I forgot my anniversary this last year. I forgot Valentine's day. I forgot mother's day. I barely remembered my own birthday (but maybe cause I'm closing in on 30 and don't want to be reminded?). I blame it all on the adult attention deficit disorder. I can't remember EVERYTHING (or anything). :o)
