I think yahoo messenger is more good than microsoft instant messenger because of its has many facilities for its members.Members who use yahoo messenger can chat to any people anywhere in the world for free of cost.They can also share images,videos,songs,files and many other thing using yahoo messenger.The member who use yahoo messenger can also send free sms to any mobile in the world for free.In yahoo messenger their is also pc to phone calling function but it is not free it requires a calling card which we should first purchase to enjoy those services.Their are many more other function in yahoo messenger which makes it the best internet messenger not only for chatting but for overall functions.

I would go with IM, but thats just because I am use to it. For me just a basic talking program is fine, I never use video or audio just file transfer occasionally.
